A short but valiant tale...
My Valiant story. Sounds like a grade shcool assignment...one that I proabally didn't turn in.
I believe I came in as Archer and Armstrong #1 and the FREE Unity hit the street. I was shocked at how good this stuff was.
I spent the next few weeks doing the back issue bins and some local and regional comic cons in the St. Louis general area. In no time at all I pick-up all of what became pre-unity. Although some of the early Magnus cost a bit.
I believe I bought all the big titles A&A, Eternal Warrior, Rai, Magnus the kids, Shadwoman. Stopped at Solar #18 in early 1993 when I got married.
Events happen and you move on.

It's not so much the quote, it was just the time to move one to other things.dellamorte wrote:Interesting quote. So what brought you back?BettyBoop2 wrote:Events happen and you move on.

I collected from '72 to about '79 got maried for the first time....(time pases)...returned to collecting about '85 to '93 or there abouts, then I remaried.
I still collected but mainly early Vertigo titles, older 70's Marvel horror (like TOD) plus a large fascination with Daredevil (up to about 300 or so). It's only been the last few months when I have been liquidating my collections that I ran accross my long-box of carefully packed Valiants. They brought back a lot of fond memories.

I was BORN in '72.
My DD collection's complete except for the last three years or so, and #1 & #3 (both of which I had, and sold.)I still collected but mainly early Vertigo titles, older 70's Marvel horror (like TOD) plus a large fascination with Daredevil (up to about 300 or so).

Re: A short but valiant tale...
The exact same thing happened to me. I asked Valiantman for some advice on how to sell them. Then I read them again. Then I decided to keep them. Then I started posting on these Boards. Then I was absorbed into the hive mind. Now I am happy.BettyBoop2 wrote:I ran across my long-box of carefully packed Valiants. They brought back a lot of fond memories.
