my very brief and very late introduction
Hello all.
I've been a member here for quite some time yet this is my first post. I actually found this site a year or so ago, which is when I started to get into Valiant. I've been a comic collector as far back as I can remember, but I leaned more towards Image I'm afraid. (any Spawn/Shadowhawk lovers out there?) Around the time I was buying into the Image hype, my father was collecting comics from a publisher that I had heard of but did not know much about. I just knew that a lot of the comics put out by this company were worth quite a bit of money. Valiant. Alas, I stuck to my Spawn and Shadowhawk and never accepted my father's offer of borrowing one of his Valiant comics to read. About two years ago my father passed, leaving me with complete runs of Turok, X-O Manowar, and Bloodshot. I read, I loved, and there was no going back. Since then I've acquired runs of Harbinger, Rai, Shadowman, Archer and Armstrong, Solar and Magnus, and I don't plan on stopping. It seems that I should have listened to my father more, even when it came to comics. (which is something I could have sworn that I had up on him)
I just wanted to extend a thank you to this site, as it has multiplied my love for Valiant comics ten-fold.
And very sorry that this post wasn't nearly as brief as the subject line had promised.

Welcome! I'm sure your father is thinking, "I told him."
I'm also hoping my son will be interested in comics. Hopefully he will appreciate Valiant but it is hard for good stories and sweet art to compete with ginormous tatas for the attention of young males so what can you do
p.s. I read Spawn and Shadowhawk too.

Welcome to the .. um well.. youve been here a long time. So.. thanks for posting
I got caught up into Image as well.. Mostly because I was hoping they would be worth something. The art was fun, but as I look back I dont remember many of the stories.
Glad to have you here!! Enjoy spending time around the site

Thanks for the warm welcome! especially since I have lurker status
I had quite the image collection, but recently got rid of it all for space/money. (the selling of the those comics actually provided much more space than money).
Right now I'm pretty much just trying to collect Valiant.
Oh, and everything Alan Moore.
