Missed my Valiant chance the 1st time, but not again...
I'm just about to turn 30 next month and haven't been much of a comic book buyer in years. I started reading comics around 10 just random issues here and there of Batman. I'd started getting into X-Men heavy right before the big 90's boom. So once that hit and all the titles came out just for the X-World there was only so much budget to throw around for a teenage kid. Once the Age of Apoc ran it's course I had the biggest easy "out" ever and stopped buying comics. I'd pickup a trade of JLA here and there but nothing else.
During my buying and reading days I had tried other titles that I'd let run just it's storyline course then drop. Savage Dragon, the starts of all the Image team books like Cyberforce, Youngblood, WildCats, Stormwatch. But it was all so by the numbers. Leader guy, big dude, chick, (if two chicks one in purple), dude who might turn on you, & one guy who was really powerful. They were cool books with nice art and okay storys but the teams were all the same basic thing.
Looking back I wish I could have read more of the Valiant books. I still have the ones I bought (along with all my X-Men, Batman, and various storyline runs from other stuff). I always really enjoyed the Valiant stuff. Really cool characters that were different that all lived in a tight universe that was some how easy to follow even without reading everything. X-O, Shadowman, Armorines, & Ninjak and the others here and there.
I've wanted to start reading comics again but just can't figure out where to start.
Seeing now that there is a start of a Valiant Comics relaunch is the coolest thing. I can finally read the stuff I only had a basic understanding of and be on the ground floor of new storylines(?).
So many questions that I have but those can wait until I've read over the board to make sure answers are already not there for me.
