MtG was pretty cool when it was first out. "Pokemon for grownups" if you will. And every card was painted like a professional portrait instead of
anime

Wasn't everyone after a black lotus card for awhile? I remember hearing about that card even as a non-collector.

I had to google to refresh my memory, but I don't remember it that much when I saw it. Very powerful card though.

I took a break from comics for financial reasons too [divorce] but you can't go wrong reading any of the pre-Unity titles to remind you of what good comics are like.
