To answer the initial question of this thread, I was really turned off by this discussion:
viewtopic.php?t=14325
When I read through this thread I started to think to myself, "Oh, another crappy internet board that seemed promising at first".
I want to start really getting on track with my Valiant collection, so this is a cool resource, and I'll stick around for a bit. Take this observation as no more or less than what it is.

That would be a fair reason . . . but that thread is really not indicative of the normal happenings at this site. It can draw a crowd because of how rare it is and the thread will eventually end up being put in Topic Oblivion.Dr. Solar wrote:To answer the initial question of this thread, I was really turned off by this discussion:

So the question still stands . . . . if most of the time we are a pretty tight community and threads are more likely to turn gay then turn into a fight . . . then Where do the My Story folks go ??? . . . . . .
. . . .hmmm . . . maybe it’s the gay thing . . . .
I know maybe threats will work . . .
If you leave, this cat will die . . .

Glad to see you're going to stick around. It would be a shame to let one bad thread sour your opinion on this place. There are a lot of good people around here and the good things about this board far outweigh the bad.Dr. Solar wrote:To answer the initial question of this thread, I was really turned off by this discussion:

Don't worry, it's just me. Put me on "ignore" and you'll do just fine.

No, I did that hoping it would fabulously bother you :)ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Did you move in between posts....? ;)
Actually, I just noticed it, and that was there from when I DID live in fabulous Berkeley when I registered on this board 3 years ago. Don't live there any more, and I am currently in the fabulous process of moving to SF. Might as well change it now.
Fabulous.

I think I like this n00b better...
I grew up in Dublin, born in Castro Valley, and stomped pretty much everywhere from Vallejo to Monterey with much frequency. It's my home, spent my first 25 years there, so I always feel a twinge when someone's from there.
My mom still lives there.
Did you see Zodiac yet? Lots of "I know where that is!" stuff for me (though it was before my time)....my mom was working graveyard in Oakland at the time, and boy was she scared.
