Unity Diamond TPB 1 & 2 CGC
Hey all,
I've got a couple BEAUTIFUL copies of Unity Diamond TPB 1 & 2, and I'd love to get them graded by CGC.
I called them to ask if they would grade them, and while I didn't get anything definitive, I was told they could be graded under the "magazine" submission, so long as they are under 1/2 inch thick.
I measured them, and Book 1 is definitely under 1/2 thick. Book 2 is just at (or just over/under) 1/2 inch thick.
I don't want to waste the time and money sending them in just to have them returned as not gradable. I found another thread where someone claims to have seen a copy graded on eBay. But I can't find any photos or evidence of this. They're not listed on GPAnalysis nor CGCs registry as far as I can tell.
I've also come across a thread that indicated CGC would grade them, but that they must either get a green label for the unverified signatures, or be graded 9.6 for having writing on them!
Any and all insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Unity Diamond TPB 1 & 2 CGC
I have seen slabbed Diamond Unity TPBs, well, pictures. Of one. I seem to remember hearing that somebody had sent one in and it was returned ungraded. I seem to remember that the consensus was that whether or not it was graded came down to the mood of the CGC grader that day,

Thank you Greg and Chicio.
So it would seem they can be graded. Kind of odd that only 1 of each has ever been graded.
Well... I'll send mine in, and hopefully double that number!

Re: Unity Diamond TPB 1 & 2 CGC
I'm the owner of the Unity Diamond TPB 1 and 2 graded CGC 9.6 [both]. I was told they were CGC 9.8 but will get the green label for unverified signature. Thus, the CGC 9.6 blue label.

Thought I read it was a "thickness" issue and possible damage to the book in the sealing process... ...or was it all just in my mind?
Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?

Cool. Did you submit them as "magazines" or just as regular modern comics?
And that seems very short-sighted of CGC to treat the signatures that way. There are zero copies WITHOUT those signatures, right? They should be treated almost as if they were part of the printing process. Very frustrating. So in that case, we'll NEVER see a 9.8 copy.

You will have to check with CGC before submission. I truly believe that it is up to whoever is grading them at the time of grading.
