I think PSA is far stronger than PGX was when it had its pubic fiasco.

The foundation under PSA is 20 years of being "the slabbing company" and having their competitors come along later. Their foundation is a rock, even with a scandal on top.
The foundation under PGX is that they were started as an "I-can-do-that-too" imposter of CGC by a single guy in his garage and they immediately had scandals for overgrading books, missing restoration, and giving out PGX/PGA/CGG 9.9 grades like Halloween candy. Their foundation was always a pile of garbage behind a curtain that said "Don't Look".
