Re: Gold Key Magnus 1 thread
That 7.0 sold for about what I paid for a 7.5 last year. I thought at the time the price was kind of high, but since it was for my personal collection I decided it was worth the cost. Good to see the price where it is at.greg wrote:Two sales in the past 90 days...

Re: Gold Key Magnus 1 thread
I wonder how many are slabbed at higher grades than your 7.5? Maybe not many...

Re: Gold Key Magnus 1 thread
There's a 7.5 currently for sale for $570 that I've come close to pulling the trigger on a few times. But I keep feeling that it's still a bit high.
Slightly off topic, I've never seen a Turok #1 for sale. What's the deal with that book?

Re: Gold Key Magnus 1 slab thread
I don't think there's a Turok 1 from back in the day. He first appeared in Four Color 596.

AFAIK there isn't a #1 and #2Nairbe wrote:There's a 7.5 currently for sale for $570 that I've come close to pulling the trigger on a few times. But I keep feeling that it's still a bit high.

The first and second appearances were in four-color comics #596 and #656 and gold key started Turok SoS with #3
Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?
Re: Gold Key Magnus 1 slab thread
That Turok 3 sounds like an important book.

Re: Gold Key Magnus 1 thread
That's correct. Several of the Four Color books ended up being "first issues" for series that started their title numbering where Four Color left off.myron wrote:AFAIK there isn't a #1 and #2Nairbe wrote:There's a 7.5 currently for sale for $570 that I've come close to pulling the trigger on a few times. Turok #3 is the first issue in the title... Four Color 596 and 656 are #1 and #2.
Donald Duck #26 is the first issue in the title... somewhat random issues of Four Color spanning 10 years are #1 - #25.
Re: Gold Key Magnus 1 slab thread
Just purchased a Magnus #1 5.5 for $300.00. I feel it's a bit on the higher end of the band, but I've been getting itchy about not having one.

Still looking out for mine...
Re: Gold Key Magnus 1 slab thread
I regret not buying that 7.5 for $570.nycjadie wrote: Still looking out for mine...
Are you holding out for a specific grade/price?

My grail would be 8.5 or higher. I have a couple low grade raws which I picked up for a song, so I'm in no hurry.

Courtesy is a nycjadie post... a Magnus 1 CGC 9.2 sells for $3,600.
