Superman: The Man of Steel 18 CGC 9.9
I just want to share the newest addition to my collection. It is 1 of only 2 in existence.

Re: Superman: The Man of Steel 18 CGC 9.9
I actually won this through a ComicLink auction last week. I don't think I would ever be so lucky to submit a book to CGC and get a 9.9 back. I have always been outbid at the last second for 9.9 issues but I was actually able to pull this one out by a couple of $$. It will be staying in my collection for a while.

The Death of Superman was probably the last Supe's storyline I followed with any kind of sincere interest. BIG fan of those books when they first hit the streets back in '92/'93.
Congrats on aquiring a really cool slab !

I actually started rereading the issues when I saw the slab in the auction. I have fond memories of the Death of Superman and Knightfall storylines.BloodShot wrote:The Death of Superman was probably the last Supe's storyline I followed with any kind of sincere interest. I remember that issue fondly.
I really really liked the lead up to the death of superman.
Never read any of the stories after.

IMNSHO, that was a truly great time-frame to be a comic book reader and collector. EVERYone was on their game. DC was rockin' extremely serious storylines with Doomsday and Knightfall; Marvel was puttin' out great stuff with X-Men's Fatal Attractions and pretty much EVERYthing Spidey-related; the independants were introducin' us to hot babes like Shi and Lady Death; Image was tearin' it up with Spawn, WildC.A.T.S. and Youngblood; and Valiant simply reigned supreme.
Man, the memories ...

I wish DOOMSDAY would come back and kill Superman again. Superboy, Supergirl, Wonderwoman, Batman, JLA JLA Dark, Aqua Man, Flash, and all the rest of them too.

Don't know if you are serious or not, but I would love that to happen and stick.

Very cool!
You need a CGC 9.9 Superman #75 Platinum to keep it company.
(But it doesn't exist... so a 9.8 might have to do.)

What if he trades the 9.9 Superman #75 Platinum? Non-existent has to be more valuable/rare than one in the census.greg wrote:There's two of yours... it's basically common.greatbrandino11 wrote:Trade straight up for your Rai 0 CGC 10?greg wrote:Very cool!

If we are doing hypothetical collections...I have a slabbed copy of Harbinger 1 (w/ coupon) at 9.9. All hypothetical offers will be considered!
