I just had a thought...
I Just had a thought(or a brainfart), If Valaints were selling today at the print run that they were in 95/96, would they be considered good sellers?
I think they would, but alas we may never know
Just a hypothetical question.

huh? do you mean if turok came out today and sold 1.75 million copies? Yes I think that it would be the huge 1 book for that month...I think that when it came out it was not even in the top five...Of course if you go back to the 40's think that the big books had print runs in the millions, so I guess it is all realative....

Actually, I was refering to the comics closer to the end of the line(the final year or so) I know those were considered dismal in the sales dept for an assortment of reasons but if they were published today with a 30.000 print run they would be decent sellers. Wouldn't they?

Ultimate FF sold 200,000. It was the highest printed book this decade.DawgPhan wrote:yeah ok..I see it now...Yeah if you sold 30,000 comics that would be alright by today's standards though I think that some of the titles are starting to approach 100,000...also the last issue of bloodshot was like 9,000 ...that is not a best sellers by any standards...

The number of copies sold varies greatly (depends on the issue) and drops off fast in the Top 50.x-omatic wrote:Ultimate FF sold 200,000. For example (FEB 2004)
#1 sold 113,879
#12 sold 69,686
#21 sold 55,014
#30 sold 50,449
#42 sold 39,695
.
#60 sold 29,748
.
#100 sold 17,691
Usually anything under #60 gets cancelled unless it has a steady position of being within a pre-determined range (depends on the publisher).

I wasn't counting the .99, .25, or free comicbook day ones as I don't consider them a true measure. I should have clearified that. My bad.Sector3600 wrote:Actually that's not the top sale for the decade:x-omatic wrote:Ultimate FF sold 200,000. There are probably a couple of sources for current book print run numbers...
The first one I'm thinking of is www.icv2.com
