too expensive!
I had the unfortunate insight today on how expensive this "rebirth" has become for the premium issues.
Solar #0 = $62.00
Valiant Voice #19 = $100.00
Solar #1 in 9.8 = $238?
(That's just stupid money)
vs
Brave and the Bold #54 (1st Teen Titans) in 8.0 = $225
X-Men #137 (death of phenoix) & #129 (1st white queen) = $45.00
X-Men #266 (1st Gambit) = $27.00
Wolverine #1 Limited Series= $28.00
Batman: The Dark Knight #1 = $22.00
X-Force #87 (1st Cable) =$15.00
Iron Man #1 = $100.00
I'm willing to bet that the above issues will be worth their present prices or more in 5 years. I cannot say the same for these recent premium Valiant issues. Count me out on the recent spectator feeding freenzy. I'm off to buy some bronze and silver age keys (Or to sell some valiants online!)

Re: too expensive!
With X-books it’s hit & misses, Gambit (1st appearance) use to go for $65 bucks a few years ago - it’s dropped its value. 5 years (unless X3 or X4 movie has his appearance) its dropp another 15%.whetteon wrote:I had the unfortunate insight today on how expensive this "rebirth" has become for the premium issues.

Cable Yeah, I remember when X-men #201 with the 1st appearance of the "baby" Cable was a hot back issue Yet New Mutants #92-100 aren't the big sellers they used to be during the 'Cable' hype.
Out of the Marvel's you listed you are best off with Ironman (Bronze Age) #1 and earlier, since there is a Marvel Movie in the works.
Brave and the Bold #54 (1st Teen Titans) is always a great comic to have, its value has being steady over the years, especially with every 'popular' Titans project and the fact that its the first time a team of side-kicks ever formed a team.
As to Valiant, Solar #0 (hardcover) only had 2000 made - so it’s not a bad collectible at that price. It’s more conservative than most sales
Solar #1 @ 9.8 seems a bit high (unless I had one for sale )
Valiant Voice is for the hardcore Valiant collector, but to tell the truth I still don't understand the value of a low print 'newsletter'. Now if is had 'secrets' of the Valiant Universe panels or upcoming art panels or a few pages of must have storylines, then maybe.

I think that I might actually agree with TSB here.thespeculatorboy wrote:That Solar #1 is stupid, and that valiant voice is even more stupider.
anyway...both of those are stupid money, the graded comics market is full of stupid money...though there is one valiant book that I would pay stupid money for in 10.0....maybe somebody will send in abunch of books to get graded soon and I will be able to get it...I would have to kick my own *SQUEE* if I ever paid $100 for a valiant voice...of course if I had one for sale then $100 is a steal...
In all honesty, I think that most of the big money spent on Valiant books is stupid money. There are a few books that I've spent big bucks on (100 for CEAR, $50 for the set of Unity Limted TPB's ) but they are all darn near impossible to find.
I just bought X-0 1-68, Harbinger 1-8, Armorines 1-12, and 7 copies of MRF 1 today for $70 shipped. The deals are still out there on these books and people who are paying that kind of money are simply impatient and/or lazy.
