I don’t need these items, but I put in a bid for $25 for a sealed Darque Brew and Armstrong Ale. I won. I paid.

Next day, the seller cancelled the order stating they were out of stock. I just decided to check, and sure enough, it was delisted for $50.

I get you wanted more than $25. That’s not my fault. But this is unethical BS to cancel and immediately relist. If the items were worth more than 25, then the auction would have reflected that.

What should I do? Let’s crowdsource next steps!

Is he a registered user here? I remember thinking “crow-eel” when I saw that name.

Report the seller to eBay for listing practices. It should be easy -

-Point to the record where you won the item
-Forward the seller response claiming "out of stock"
-Then forward the new listing with the SAME item for more money. The end

Complaint made. They said I would get no further response.

Seems like a silly thing to do over $25.

I know it... I can't tell you how many times in my collecting life I've swallowed small-sum disappointments like that and walked away. But the other side of that is the guy left such a clear A to B to C paper trail of the problem that is wasn't too much of an effort beyond simple clear-communication on your part to protect the community.
