Why is Deathmate Preview Orange...
Recently on FaceBook's Valiant page, someone posted that they got a kick-butt price on Deathmate Orange Preview. I thought to myself, "Say what!?" What is that? I've never seen nor even heard of such a thing.
So of course I instantly went to eBay to find and buy it as here I thought I had a complete VH1 run and it turned out I was missing an issue. Only to find out...holy heck it's expensive!
So my question is why? Why are other Deathmate issues so cheap and this goes for about $300? I'm of course guessing scarcity, but c'mon already. We're talking Deathmate here, not Amazing Spider-Man 129.

Re: Why is Deathmate Preview Orange...
Deathmate Preview Orange was free inside the Previews June 1993 catalog. Taking it out of the catalog requires cutting it or ripping it out of the binding.
There are a few copies of Deathmate Preview Orange which aren't from the catalog, which have an intact spine and standard staples (not ripped out or trimmed at the spine). Those "intact spine" copies are $300. The "normal" Deathmate Preview Orange inside Previews June 1993 is about $10 or less, since that issue of Previews about $10 and also had a free Plasm #0 inside (same problem, bound/trimmed, not stapled). A recent sale for Previews June 1993 was $5.50 with $4 for shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/194471903912

Thanks for the info, Greg. I may buy that Previews. You know I own the "other" Previews that has the other preview.

Greg,
I went to Ebay yesterday to buy that special Previews that had the Preview Orange and it was gone. Someone bought it. I'll have to periodically do eBay searches for it and see if another one pops up.

That same EBay seller has sold several over the years. You might want to inquire about another (as he seems to have a stack).David_Cody wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 12:09:51 pm Greg,

Re: Why is Deathmate Preview Orange...
Greg, is this the same for Deathmate Green?
(There were only the two D Previews, right?)
(That is alternate Mothergod on the cover, right?)
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?
Re: Why is Deathmate Preview Orange...
If I remember correctly, Deathmate Green (Advance) was distributed with Advance Comics, but as a separate comic. Also the Deathmate Green (Comic Defense) book was a separate book. I think Pink and Orange are the same books with different covers. The scene on the cover of Green is the Deathmate version of an event that took place in Solar 12.

Re: Why is Deathmate Preview Orange...
When Magnus mentioned the Pink Deathmate I had to check my collection to ensure I had it. Sho enough, I got 'er.
