Finally Read ALL of VH-1 XO
The book was probably one of the strongest and most consistent all the way up to Birthquake: then they took a strong and much loved supporting cast and threw them away. I never saw a book self-sabotage as fast as I did XO. The incredibly mediocre Acclaim XO reboot was better than the latter days of VH1 XO. Keith Giffen did make it readable for a bit towards the end, but readable is not the same as good. And the final two issues were lazy as *SQUEE*.
Manga, comics, who cares? They're pretty much the same thing.

Hurts, but true. I guess this is what Lizzo was singing about.Sunlight on Snow wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 9:06:53 amHere you go!armlessphelan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 4:54:08 pm I never saw a book self-sabotage as fast as I did XO.

Nebraska's awfully close to Minnesota but Aric's not a Viking. He ain't it either!possumgrease wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 4:13:15 pmHurts, but true. Re: Finally Read ALL of VH-1 XO
If you read all of XO then you ran across the issue with Blister, in the crossover with Shadowman. I think that was the character's only nonSM appearance. Can anyone confirm that? I'm pretty sure.
Anyway, he was great, wasn't he? Sublimely preposterous supersoldier.
I first encountered him via the XO crossover myself.
Did you by chance read the Shadowman Part 2: Metal and Magic?
I haven't had the privilege, myself. I have goals.

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Blister only appears in SM and that crossover.Oxmyx wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 7:09:24 am If you read all of XO then you ran across the issue with Blister, in the crossover with Shadowman. I think that was the character's only nonSM appearance. Can anyone confirm that? I'm pretty sure.

Goths are cousins of the Norsemen. Lots of parallels, even outside of Ukraine.Sunlight on Snow wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 6:51:16 amNebraska's awfully close to Minnesota but Aric's not a Viking. Aric was born in the 4th Century. That's about 500 years before the Vikings set sail for the first time.Chiclo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 8:46:04 amGoths are cousins of the Norsemen. Some Vikings & Norsemen might have been cousins of some Goths but the Visigoths had already settled in Spain by then.

You take me too literally. I was referring to the people groups, not to the individuals.Sunlight on Snow wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 2:03:15 pmAric was born in the 4th Century. I think the Goths had been almost entirely driven from Spain [minus Basque country] by the time the Viking age began, which if I remember right, was the raid on Lindesfarne in 798. I generally try to avoid referring to the people as Vikings; Viking was an activity rather than those doing it.
