Time to get behind Rai and send a positive message to Valiant!

Post by Dallow Spicer1 »

To whoever remains..if you aren’t reading Rai then as a Valiant fan you should be. Dan Abnett is producing consistently excellent stories and has achieved what most of us want:

*Interesting stories
*Genuinely using continuity
*Characters ‘sound’ like how we know them to be
*New and interesting characters who blend in well with established characters

Read the book and if you like it then let Valiant know this is the level of book we expect.

To our fellow SJW members of the board, take a break from rioting, actually *buy* a Valiant book and lets see your reviews!

I've continued ordering it, but the shipping has been a mess of cancellations and so on. I think I might be missing an issue as well, but I won't know until the dust settles, I get my next order and then dig in the bins to see what I've got.

I'll read it from start when I know I've got a contiguous run. I thought Valiant was basically kaput as a publisher though now? Any word on how many issues this "volume" of Rai is getting?

Abnett said in a recent interview he’s got a ton of stories to tell but it just depends on sales as far as keeping the book going which is why we need to do our part. Spread the word!

I love the positivity! DMG has made their fair share of mistakes, but Abnett's work has been a shining beacon of light since Fallen World #1.

1. You probably haven't missed much. Issue #5 came out in March, and #6 came out last week.
2. Valiant/DMG is currently publishing two books per month.

Good thread! :thumb:

I love this series. Abnett is one of the best SciFi writers and JJ Ryp is one of my favorite illustrators so it's a perfect combo for me.

Not that it means much but the Pre-Order Bundle is limited to 10 issues only.

SEP - Bloodshot #8 + Rai #7
OCT - Bloodshot #9 + Rai #8
NOV - Rai #9 + XO #2

Bloodshot isn't solicited for NOV anymore and according to Amazon issue #10 will not be released before JAN 2021.

That's just what it is right now. And if you connect the dots, just in case they stick to the current strategy until 2021, then we won't be getting any new series anymore this year because....

DEC - Rai #10 + XO #3

You could just buy the trade to catch up? It's only $10 for 5 issues.

Don’t be silly, like the rest of us you’ve probably spent hardly anything on comics during lockdown, it’s only on issue 6! Just get on board mate, it’s a good read.

Forget XO, thats lost but Rai is a worthwhile buy.

I'm incliend to agree with nonplayer. No need to defend or virtue signal for Valiant when the publisher has sucked for a long time now. I stick with Rai though almost as blindly as I stick with Iron Man, and Iron Man has sucked for many years as well.

Truth, not just for Valiant but all of the publishers. Until shipping gets back to consistently delivering a product, Valiant and the other publishers will suffer.

Haha
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Rai is a great series. I am going to enjoy Juan Jose work while he is still on the book..for another issue or two. I have really enjoyed this series so far.

Well. "SJW" by proxy of any comic book in the context of the joke is because SJW's tend to try and pimp diversity however they see it, but then in turn do not actually support those initiatives through purchasing power. And so in the context that this was presented SJW is to Rai as an SJW call to action is to anything that requires money - all talk and destruction but no action and support.

See? :thumb:
