Nope, not alone on that one. Depending on interest, I usually buy two, one to read, and the rarest variant (1:50/1:100/etc) of my liking. With no variants, and the scarcity (print run) of these books, I’ll still buy two and slab one.

Has there been any word on their distribution partners? Which stores..... For so many reason I don't believe for a second that Graham Crackers will be the store of choice for the Chicago market

This is more a change in distabution than comics.
If they can start an independent distribution network, that's where another alternative to diamond is.
If the limited, comic becomes popular and secondary market drives up price..
More people will acknowledge what they are doing.
Think long term not just next year.
They are using their previous expertise to bring forth a new distribution network.
Good luck.
NV. Looking forward to the new comics

I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Re: Bad Idea Promises to Change the Comic Book Industry Status Quo
I read to day that when they expand to new stores, those stores will still be able to order what has already been published.
Pure speculation here, but what if there is no information in the books they're printing that indicates what printing the book is, and they just reprint issues as necessary to have them out there to fill reader demand. That would explain why they might limit one per customer from the start; in that case anyone buying multiples for investment would essentially be buying extras that anyone could have for cover price. I don't know enough about publishing to know whether there's any sort of legal issue with that. But if you're publishing for the love of comics as an art form, rather than a hobby or investment, then that would make a certain amount of sense, no?

For a publisher (and author) getting to a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, Nth Printing means success and it creates even more buzz.
Remember how huge it was for VEI to get to a Fifth Printing of Divinity #1 and Fourth Printing of Savage #1.
Especially for #BadIdea it would be a really #BadIdea to keep reprinting the "First Printing". They would deny themselves from telling the industry "See, it works! We sold out the first XX copies of Eniac #1 through 20 LCS only and it's getting a Second Printing now."
Last not least, the vast majority of readers does not even care about the printing number, and the ones who do care may buy additional copies of the Nth Printing as well; see Jessie's awesome collections of 9.8 Divinity & Savage.

Yes, as new stores are added each month they will have access to our reserves and be able to order very limited quantities of every issue that has been printed before.TheFerg714 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 9:16:59 amWill you be doing that though? Re: Bad Idea Promises to Change the Comic Book Industry Status Quo
As a collector as well as a reader, that's good to know. Just trying to figure out the logic behind the one-per-customer rule, and figured that what I presented would be a way to not *SQUEE* off collectors who think they're going to pre-order multiples of a book and then be stuck with them.dino wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 1:15:10 amWould never do thatkjjohanson wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 10:10:19 pm I read to day that when they expand to new stores, those stores will still be able to order what has already been published.

I'm not a fan of speculators who hit the comic shop on the day of release and grab up all of the copies of the new hot boom on the shelf, but I don't see an issue with pre-ordering a book that one thinks might have a good future. (I pre-ordered 50 copies of that sweet sweet A cover for Ninjak 4 from Ed, a move I don't regret.) Any chance that the one-per customer rule only applies to books on the shelf, and not pre-orders?
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Re: Bad Idea Promises to Change the Comic Book Industry Status Quo
That would never go beyond the speculation phase though, would it? Only in rare cases do we find out the definitive print runs of books. Outside of that, all we have to go on are the Diamond sales estimates that Comichron reports, and these books won't be distributed through Diamond.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Very hard to get excited for this as I'm quite sure none of the comic stores here will be in the first 20, 50 or even 100 stores that get these books.
