It's a great way to see what was written and not filmed, what was changed, and to clarify extra details like what someone was thinking or how something was described differently "in the novelization".

Before Disney got Star Wars, the novelizations for the prequels were available in book stores (or Amazon) about two weeks before the movies. I'm sure lots of people would hate that, but it was fun to enjoy audience reactions to things I had read even before opening night.
This novel thing is neat - it lends credibility to the "Summer fun sci-fi hype movie".
I remember when this was done with The Temple of Doom - the novel had waxy picture pages in the middle of the book with stills from the movie. And then they did this with Iron Man and that book had several little nuggets that didn't make it into the flick.

It's cool that Bloodshot is joining the ranks of legit flicks with marketing and apocrypha. Now all we need is a G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary-style 3 3/4" action figure line and I'd suddenly be all-in.
This is pretty cool. :thumb: :thumb:

Totally agreed on all points, guys. A novelization can be seen cynically as a merch cash grab, but I've always really liked the idea of them and have read a few over the years - I certainly enjoyed them a great deal as a kid. Hello, Alan Dean Foster! You will definitely get a little more out of a well written novelization, that will add to the experience of watching the movie.

The idea of them being released prior to the film doesn't bother me in the slightest - don't want to read it first? Don't buy it! Simple.

IMJ - I forgot about that tradition of including some movie pics in the middle - loved that!!

I was at summer camp when Batman '89 came out, so had to make do with the novelization beforehand. That copy ended up getting passed all around the camp before summer ended.

Finally saw the film in late July and it was well worth the wait.

If you read it before seeing the movie, what tune did you have in your head when you read the lyrics to the theme song?
Greensleeves?

I'm doing quite well! We again have internets in house as of a year of so , but our time in the "wilderness" gave us a really healthy appreciation of and respect for all the aspects of a "connected life" both good and bad. So far no one has reverted back to a zombie yet. :hope:

Not bad.

I was thinking Monty Python's Camelot song. :hm:
On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a silly place.

Reverted to zombie? So your natural state is zombie, or you're currently in remission?
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

At the time when we dropped home internet service a few years ago we were tely zombies, so think remission would be the appropriate term.
