Re: War Monger (Forgotten Queen) question...
It really looks like a good fit; however, it has never been confirmed as far as I know.

Re: War Monger (Forgotten Queen) question...
It just popped into my head that we've got a "new" immortal in War Monger / Forgotten Queen, but perhaps the "Forgotten" part is that she's from earlier Valiant books than War Monger and Book of Death.DirtbagSailor wrote:It really looks like a good fit; however, it has never been confirmed as far as I know.

I don't think there's any indication of a history with the Eternal Warrior in the Unity arc, so I'm going to go with "no"

Book of Death is War *Mother*, not War *Monger*, right?greg wrote:It just popped into my head that we've got a "new" immortal in War Monger / Forgotten Queen, but perhaps the "Forgotten" part is that she's from earlier Valiant books than War Monger and Book of Death.DirtbagSailor wrote:It really looks like a good fit; however, it has never been confirmed as far as I know.

Right - I probably have those confused. War Monger showed up in Unity around the same time as Book of Death.kjjohanson wrote:Book of Death is War *Mother*, not War *Monger*, right?greg wrote:It just popped into my head that we've got a "new" immortal in War Monger / Forgotten Queen, but perhaps the "Forgotten" part is that she's from earlier Valiant books than War Monger and Book of Death.DirtbagSailor wrote:It really looks like a good fit; however, it has never been confirmed as far as I know.

I believe based on War Monger’s introduction in Unity that it was not possible she was Xaran. Of course, basically EVERYTHING from Pak’s EW run has been tossed out aside from the Eternal Emperor stuff that was used in Rai and 4001.

I don't like that Gil is showing up in her book. I was prepared to ignore it.
Then I started thinking, what if they announced a new Britannia arc, but it was co-starring War Monger! She'd be spending the whole time swearing at Antonius and annoying everyone.

I still think it's a shame that stuff got tossed aside. I think it set up a lot of interesting things to potentially explore in future issues, but I guess it'll never be. Great comics from Pak there.BugsySig wrote:I believe based on War Monger’s introduction in Unity that it was not possible she was Xaran. I'm still of the opinion that all the EW comics have been brill to date. Always looking forward to more EW.

I thought Pak's books were good, but it's not what readers of the original Valiant wanted after waiting nearly two decades for new books.Shadowman99 wrote:I still think it's a shame that stuff got tossed aside. Re: War Monger (Forgotten Queen) question...
I liked Pak's EW too. Both arcs are good.
It's been a while since I read it but didn't the first arc involve a tree of life, (or death) or something? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't LEGENDS OF THE GEOMANCER also involve a tree of life, or something similar? Isn't the cult of Nergal in them both too? To me it all lines up. They just need an arc where his daughter pops back up, maybe ending with her dead but redeemed in Gilad's heaven with the rest of his family.

FVL definitely used some of Pak’s ideas in LotG and Ivar, Timewalker. But most of the plot points from issues 1-4 were never revisited, specifically Gilad’s 2 kids.kinggirlfriend wrote:I liked Pak's EW too. Both arcs are good.
