Looks like they’re acknowledging this as it’s been pushed back a week. Don’t know what the error is, maybe Diamond?

Is this the first time Valiant has missed a shipping date?

Main covers? Sounds like a defect in printing. Are the other covers going to ship?

I wouldn't consider this going late since there's editions that do come out but it is annoying for people who aren't picking up variants. I had wondered why my DCBS order this week didn't list LADOTH...

Will the pre-order edition ship on time? Seems like if ordering was an issue for the regular, it would not be for the pre-order.

If the tweet is true and shipping's been delayed to allow them an extra week to print more standard copies to meet increased demand that would, on the face of it, appear to be a good thing, no?

The digital edition shipped on time. :D

This is the worst part of this whole thing to me. Worse than even shipping the book late is lying about it. They've had this book finished for a year per Josh Dysart and Dinesh. Last minute orders have never come in before? And, if so many last minute orders came in what happened to the copies that were printed for the early orders? How come they didn't ship? And how do stores that only put their exclusive store cover in a week and a half before the on sale wednesday have their copies in on time? Surely they are last minute orders. The whole things smells of either incompetence and lying or DMG trying to screw Dinesh one more time by taking the last book he worked on and giving it a smaller audience. Whatever the reason I feel bad for the Cafu and Dysart, a late book will mean fewer readers. I miss the old Valiant where things like this never happened.

I read the tweet as spin, wanting to make the negative sound like a positive.

In the past, when there was a surge of last-minute orders, didn't they just immediately go to a 2nd printing instead of shipping the first run late? :-?

And this. This would have been a win. Suggests to me there was an error, or just poor judgment in managing the extra orders. Maybe we can compare the regular print book with the variants for an answer.

We are indeed going to need to CLOSELY examine this for error potential.

To be fair, I suspect at least some of those immediate 2nd prints were created to have another "variant" out there for collectors. I figure if they can get those ready to be available to ship with the regular edition, then they're printing at the same time (i.e. they can just increase the numbers of the original print run).

If the reason for the delay was initial orders, they could have followed up with a reprint the next week
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

I would think that would be for orders AFTER final order deadline. The way they spun this was there was an influx of orders AT the final order deadline. It really doesn't make sense, though.

It makes more sense to me to do a second printing than miss a deadline, so I'm suspecting that something went amiss somewhere and the tweet was a fabrication to cover over somebody's screw up.
