Valiant at C2E2?

I didn't see Valiant listed among the exhibitors on the C2E2's website. Does anyone know if they are going to have a booth? They normally have a really big set up, and I was very surprised not to see them listed this year.

I got a hold of Valiant, and they told me that they were going to be presenting along side my LCS. However when I spoke to my LCS, they told me that Valiant was only getting a few shelves worth of space and no area for an artist/writer meet and greet. That's a big disappointment after seeing the huge booths that they've had in prior years.

Valiant did say they'll have some reps and a panel, and hopefully, I'll be able to score a gold cover.....if they are still doing that.

I've noticed the same some of the same things for ECCC, they only have their booth (much smaller than years past) and one panel, on a Thursday.

If that's all they have, it's gonna be a weak year of the Cons.

Valiant has always had a big presence at C2E2. It was their 1st con appearance when they launched in 2012. They were the reason I went that year and every year since. Between launch parties, exclusives, and a chance to meet up with Dinesh and crew, it was always a blast. Disappointing if they are scaling that back and not really a good sign. Amy and I already decided we were going to skip this year (going to Denver instead). I don't really know any of the new staff and I am having a hard time caring as much as I used to.

I know those booths and things are super expensive, but scaling back to that level doesn’t sound great. Sorry to hear that. Hope they can continue to connect with fans and make product available.

Sounds like they are cutting back on their Convention presence. I would think if they are not at this, they'll be pretty much scarce except for maybe NYCC because of it's proximity. I do know they always got great location in Chicago and NY because Fred had a great relationship with the showrunners from his time at Wizard.

I think it was Atom and Hunter who had the relationship. I atually remember reading that Fred being from Wizard was a problem they had to overcome with Chicago and NY. I think that's also why Valiant isn't able to do Wizard conventions.

It certainly looks like they have scaled back conventions a lot. It's too bad. It was something Valiant did that was really special.
