The X-O Manowar logo on the top right looks like the 1990s version. The teaser image holds some clues as to what is coming

I wonder when the current series ends. Love that they are getting rid of that yellow trade dress. Awful. The new virgin look is great.

I think it’s time for a change. Needs a big hitter artist and writer though, no experimental rubbish!

What volume are we on now? I'm not kidding, I lost track of everything way back when the first relaunches and miniseries of everything were announced.... Is this four for neo Valiant and six total?

This will be the 5th.IMJ wrote:What volume are we on now? I'm not kidding, I lost track of everything way back when the first relaunches and miniseries of everything were announced.... Is this four for neo Valiant and six total?
Volume 1 - 1992 series 1-68
Volume 2 - 1996 series, or the Acclaim Series 1-21... no Aric.
Volume 3 - 2012 series, or ‘Venditti’s run’, 1-50.... start of VEI
Volume 4 - 2017 series, or ‘Kindt’s run’, 1-26
Volume 5 - 2019 series, (or mini-series... who knows)

Ummm, the CBR article specifically says "cinematic" in describing the comic, and the teaser image supposedly holds some clues.

Wow, Greg, nice observation! But would they really split X-O off to Universal while Sony has Bloodshot?

Re: New X-O MANOWAR Title Coming This Fall
While I’m glad to see the end of that ostentatious black&yellow trade dress, and like the nod to the original VH1 era design in the new one... I really wish they would have gone back to the previous VEI logo that launched the first 2012 Venditti run. That was an especially well designed modern trade dress which had a distinct sci-fi feel that I really loved.jmatt wrote:I agree, love the new trade dress.nycjadie wrote:I wonder when the current series ends. Greg.... I think you may have nailed it with the "Universal symbol." I thought the earth's crest looked familiar in the background.... but I couldn't place it.
It will be exciting if X-O gets a movie announcement in the future. The bummer will be.... how will there be a shared movie universe if different company's get the Movie rights for different characters? Can there ever be a "UNITY" movie?

Re: New X-O MANOWAR Title Coming This Fall
So unless we're informed otherwise, this is officially the end of Matt Kindt's relationship with Valiant. It's a little sad that his departure is being given so little attention. It feels like he's being eyeing the door for a year, and only stood on board to completely his previous obligations.
Only Bloodshot and Harbinger are being produced by Sony. The rest of the Valiant movies will be released by whoever bids highest for them. It's too early to tell, but we don't actually know if Sony retains the rights to Harbinger/Bloodshot after the five picture deal is complete. It sounds like a finite licensing deal to me. Maybe DMG could sell the Bloodshot/Harbinger license to Universal after Harbinger Wars is released. We don't even know if they're planning a shared universe of Valiant heroes either way. That'd require a strong creative leadership, something DMG doesn't really have.Juki wrote: Greg.... I think you may have nailed it with the "Universal symbol." Absolutely. DMG wants a profit, and having very little to do with the Sony films won't do that for them. The DMG credit for Sony will be similar to Marvel on Fox. Fox isn't Marvel Studios... and Bloodshot won't be DMG Studios.jmatt wrote:Wow, Greg, nice observation! But would they really split X-O off to Universal while Sony has Bloodshot?
From January 2018:
"X-O Manowar and others yet to be disclosed publicly are well underway."
https://cosmicbook.news/valiant-confirm ... owman-more" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
That was a year ago.
X-O Manowar is the most like Iron Man 3 and Looper, the only prior credits that DMG ever mentions in press releases.

Chuffed to hear that it won't be long before XO's back on the shelves. Have loved everything about this book since 2012

Hmm. Yeah, I get it. It's a shame that we're heading into a splinter-verse of movie production.greg wrote:The DMG credit for Sony will be similar to Marvel on Fox. Fox isn't Marvel Studios... and Bloodshot won't be DMG Studios.

I didn’t mean experimental with Kindt’s series, I meant more so with what has happened with other re-launched series. For example A&A with the art ‘experimentation’.Sven the Returned wrote:At what issue do you think the experimental stuff started?Dallow Spicer1 wrote:I think it’s time for a change.
