To be fair this is Vin Diesel as Ray Garrison. Hopefully he looks a bit different as Bloodshot :D

Didn't Ray Garrison have a cool haircut? And don't actors..... act.... by doing things like the characters they are pretending to be? Like get stylized haircuts and basically.... act and dress like them? Therefore by that logic, which is what actors do, this cannot be a picture of Bloodshot and instead must simply be.... a picture of Vin Diesel.

God I want this movie to be amazing so badly.

Well, I am happy to see he is playing Ray, as opposed to Angelo as was often stated in various articles.

Because I believe (having read every issue of Bloodshot ever released) that Lemire’s run on Bloodshot is more in touch and connected with the modern era than Angelo would be.

The mafia gangerster thing was cool in the 70s and 80s, but is not really a thing anymore. Lemire’s take on the character will translate on film very well, and to a global audience of movie goers who will vote with their wallets as to them supporting future Valiant film projects.

I want a good movie, that is also a mainstream success, so (IMO) Ray Garrison is the right call.

Vin Diesel is a big movie star but most of the action movies he makes as the big-name, signature star are pretty forgettable (not including the Fast and the Furious movies, that is an ensemble cast). I am afraid that Bloodshot is going to fade into the same category of such unremarkable films as the Pacifier (<3 Lauren Graham) and the Last Witch Hunter.

I was hoping for a picture of him in full costume, but this is still pretty cool. We're getting close to the first teaser trailer being released now that we're only a year away from the movie being release. I'll admit the only franchises Vin Diesel has managed to jumpstart are Fast and Furious and Riddick, but Bloodshot is different. Bloodshot is actually planned as a larger franchise, and not just something that will hopefully have sequels. There's already an entire world for Vin to dive into, and that's a huge advantage. A lot of the leads in the MCU and DCEU had a hit or miss film background until their superhero roles. Chris Evans hasn't exactly an A-Lister until he became Captain America. So goes for Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Vin Diesel is already a familiar name, and if we're lucky Bloodshot could be a big hit.

True but he also always said it was good for a web series which it kinda is. I think it's about as good as a web series can get and that's with DMG not allowing Dinesh to be involved in the editing which is what people say is the most important part. I hate what DMG did to Ninjak Vs. It's really too bad because it could have brought lots of new fans in.

Looking at it again I think Vin Diesel just posted a photo and everyone went crazy. I don't think this was planned as the first look at Bloodshot. Notice that Sony are not involved in putting it out there or spreading the word. So it's probably just a photo he posted of himself on the movie.

I have no worries of this film becoming at least a moderate success. I have spoken to around 10 people who are not into comics about Valiant and this film. They were all mostly bored and uninterested until I mentioned Vin Diesel and the role he is playing. Every single one of them said that sounded interesting and they will definitely watch it.

"Success" is a big debate in movies.

If a movie makes $200,000,000 U.S. domestic box office, is it a success? If it cost $50,000,000 or less to make, then it's a success... if it cost $250,000,000 to make, then it flopped.

If a movie makes $20,000,000 U.S. domestic box office, is it a success? If it cost $1,000,000 to make, then it's a success... if it cost $25,000,000 to make, then it flopped.

If a Vin Diesel movie makes $60,000,000 U.S. domestic box office, it beats the xXx sequel and all three Riddick movies but only makes 17% of Furious 7. Is it a success or a flop?

If said movie is based on Valiant IP and actually releases to the public then I think it is absolutely a success. Though maybe only to Valiant fans. :kidaround:

One thing I can honestly say.
I have avoided marvel and dc at the theaters so I can justfy seeing a Valiant movie mutable times.

So, from the picture, it does seem that Sony's Bloodshot will be bald. :? Is this really a "sticking point"....for hardcore Valiant comic fans?

His hair has usually been very short. Hair is not a deal breaker for me. It will be interesting to see if he does have some hair at any point during the film (Maybe he is bald as a soldier before the nanites?)

It's just that so far the Green Ranger as Bloodshot in the webseries actually seemed to capture the essence and iconography of the character more accurately than a Hollywood film. But I totally accept that this is not a fair observation at this point, considering we have had basically two glimpses of Diesel as Bloodshot. I just hope that it's not more of this....

Image
That awkward moment where you realize a cosplayer did your movie character better than Hollywood did your movie character, although with Bloodshot it might be "that awkward moment where a low budget web series did your character better than Hollywood did".

Just a thought, because I want this movie to be good so badly! If anything I hope they get on top of the marketing and that the next reveals are something to get fans excited. The first Iron Man flick did this very well.

Good thing the producer of the web series is also producing the movie! :D

Patience man, we're 13 months out. Don't want the hype to peek too early. :high-five:
