Valiant Sunday - Top 5 VEI Era Titles

Post by Jace »

Curious what Jace & Jesse think are the best Valiant Comics titles? Listen in as they give their Top 5 VEI titles! Plus plenty of honorable mentions.

I imagine this will elicit some debate, so let's hear what everyone else picks as their top 5!

Downloading it now! If Harby Wars isn’t in there then we’ve got ourselves a problem! :kidaround:

:| I don’t think either one of them (Jesse or Jace) mentioned Harbinger Wars.

I have to say I did enjoy listening to this pod cast and the insight into each of their picks of their top 5 books.

But, no overlap? It is hard to imagine that there was not one single book that you both agree on that should be in the top 5?

Personally, I think y’all should have tried to logically try to change each other’s mind on at least one book. Maybe that could be a future podcast?

..... or just go ahead and expand it into a top ten to at least have some overlap.

Maybe VEI’s stories are all so good that there can be no agreement on the best?

Some great picks there guys. Believe me Jesse and I were are surprised as anyone when we compared our lists right before we started and had no picks in common. We definitely will revisit a Top 5 or 10 list in the future and would love to have some of you join us for some debate about the various choices.

1. Archer & Armstrong by Van Lente (including #0 issues and one-shots)
2. Harbinger / Imperium by Dysart (including #0 issues, wanted to leave an extra spot for something else, so I put both of these together)
3. Unity: To Kill a King / At War With Unity
4. The Valiant
5. 4001 A.D. (super underrated imo. Full event including one-shots and Rai tie-in)

Honorable Mentions:
Harbinger Wars (the whole event)
Bloodshot Reborn/USA by Lemire
Secret Weapons (including #0 issues, Lucia's Story, and HW2 Prelude)
Book of Death (including Fall of one-shots)
Shadowman #0/10

So I noticed that one of you on the podcast said that Tini Howard was writing a new War Mother series.

Just have to ask, and I'm really sorry to be a party pooper, but you know it's a War Monger series, right?
