Snagged Almost a Full Set of Classic Quantum and Woody!
I just purchased a complete set of the Acclaim Quantum and Woody off of ebay for around $70, with the exception of issue 3. The seller says they're all from dealer stock and unopened. At least from the pics, they appear NM. I'm thinking I may have gotten a really good deal on these as they seem to be pretty hard to find in higher grades.
I'm curious if any other Acclaim titles are worth seeking out.

For reading or for investing?

As far as expensive books there isnt much. Armorines#4, shadowman(vol2) #1 special edition and ashcan, shadiwman 16 glow in the dark. Shadowman (vol 3) most issues hold some value. And quantum and woody retailer review, 1, and 3.
As for reading. Personally outside of quantum and woody its pretty rough. Eternal warrior wasnt awful. Doctor tomorrow was kinda good. Shadowman was good. Magnus made me actually cheer for the robots...

Acclaim's Bloodshot was pretty good. X-O under Acclaim was not my cup of tea. Neither was Ninjak.

I think the first 4 issues of X-O were pretty good, i.e. the ones that had Mark Waid writing and Sean Chen on art. After that....meeeeh...
I found the Turok series to be very enjoyable.
Bloodshot was pretty great all around, and probably the closest the line got to feeling like old school VH1. His battle with X-O still ranks up there as pretty legendary, in my mind.
Quantum & Woody... 'nuff said there. The highlight of the whole line.
Man of the Atom (amazing) -> Revelations (ok) -> Solar: Hell on Earth (really good) also worked to get the VH1 feel going again.

I doubt there's a market for it, but I wish VEI would release the Doctor Tomorrow run as a hardcover.Foxom wrote:As far as expensive books there isnt much. Kind of a repeat of what's already been said but I enjoyed from Acclaim:
Q&W and Goat HAEDUS
Bloodshot
Shadowman Volume 2 and Volume 3
Turok
Eternal Warriors
Solar
Master Darque one shot

I liked the Master Darque stuff.
Shadowman vol #16 to the end of vol 3 was good. Lots better than the middle and almost to the end of VH1 SM.

Snagged Almost a Full Set of Classic Quantum and Woody!
I’m starting to seriously consider getting some more of the Acclaim titles even though many seem to be stinkers storywise. And I completely lucked out on this set too. With the exception of 2 - 3 issues, most are easily solid near mint condition. Very hard to find copies this nice today.

I just added #3 today to complete the set. The first appearance of the almighty Goat.
