Harbinger Wars?

Post by Wodwulf Seaxaning »

I am about to get into the Harbinger Wars mini-crossover, should I read Harbinger vol. 3 Harbinger Wars first or Harbinger Wars mini? I figure I can read Bloodshot: Harbinger Wars after those, since it seems to tie more directly into the Harbinger Wars mini, than Harbinger vol. 3.

1. Bloodshot Vol. 3 ties into HW just as much as Harbinger Vol. 3.

2. My recommended reading order would be chronological order, ie: the order Valiant put them in for the hardcover:
Pt. 1- Harbinger Wars #1 -> Harbinger #11 -> Bloodshot #10
Pt. 2- Harbinger Wars #2 -> Harbinger #12 -> Bloodshot #11
Pt. 3- Harbinger Wars #3 -> Bloodshot #12 -> Harbinger #13
Pt. 4- Harbinger Wars #4 -> Bloodshot #13 -> Harbinger #14

3. The only problem with reading the deluxe hc is that you'll be missing the stellar Harbinger #0. If you end up going the deluxe route, you definitely need to track this issue down at some point.

4. If you really have to read it separately, you should definitely read Harbinger Wars first, and it doesn't really matter which order the other two are in, as long as they come after. It'll kind of feel like reading the main story, and then filling in the gaps for our main protagonists with the tie-ins.

Ferg's post is a good guide to follow there. Thing with this series is that each month the comics were coming out during the events occurring in each of the comics occurred concurrently and cross-referenced pretty closely, which doesn't make reading the event by way of reading all the Harbinger issues first, then all of the HW comics together (etc.) a particularly good way to read the event. Follow Ferg's suggested reading order.

Valiant replied to me.
The books will be shipping within the next 1-2 weeks and you should expect to receive an email with tracking info within that timeframe if you provided an email address with your order.
I Miss the good old days.
