Wow! As I get older and time passes, I sometimes forget just how incredibly talented BWS is.

Amazing stuff. I would dearly love to see BWS come back to doing new comic art.

Re: Eternal warrior reinked pages by BWS...amazing!
When I was younger I wasn't a big fan of BWS pencils, linework or his slightly stretched figure symmetry. Now, when I look at his stuff from "my" era of comic collecting; Iron Man #232, A&A, or his work on MCP, I am captivated by it. He was so far ahead of his time - an artist who used unique paneling but with an artistic sensibility that went beyond just placing the drawings on paper in an order that told a story. Time has made me a big fan of his work and I wish that I could find more of it in the mainstream books that I follow nowadays. The guy, in my opinion, who has come closest to this is Capullo. His figure work is eyecandy, but now and again he will throw in these incredibly artistic panel designs that convey artwork and story. Check out how Capullo draws hands - they are always doing something that completes a figure - check out his Quasar run anytime Quasar is flying or projecting energy. Awesome.

BWS remains the legend of legends. My god that man's work is beautiful. Does anymore know - does he still have these pages? I would love to see him return to anything comic related - anything. (But if Dino got scans of these...maybe he can convince BWS to draw even a cover for VEI!)

I miss his work so much, just a cover would be awesome but let dream big and have an annual or the like!

BWS's work on A&A is some of my all-time favorite work by anyone. I would love to see him do a one-shot piece for VEI. Even a cover would be cool.

There was a 4 issue Machine Man Marvel limited series in the 1980's that I know BWS was the cover artist for and I believe he did the interior art as well that I recommend to anyone.IMJ wrote:When I was younger I wasn't a big fan of BWS pencils, linework or his slightly stretched figure symmetry. I love his work, but would have preferred he keep the originals as they were. I like the less detailed originals.

That is amazing stuff. Wow.
I just recently re-read "Weapon X" and was again stunned by how that whole story "feels". Not just the pencils, script or dialogue, but even the damn inks and color scheme- he's a beast.

Amazing stuff.
If they ever get around to publishing the EW Valiant Masters HC, and BWS agrees to it, these should be included as extras.

I agree with Steve I hope those aren't the actual originals and he used something to go over them. But Man those are just some amazing line work. He can do this and nothing on Opus 3? lol (I would buy it in a heartbeat if it ever got printed)

That's cause he did it all on that book. Barry is best when it's Barry all the way.ShadowTuga wrote:That is amazing stuff. Wow.

Re: Eternal warrior reinked pages by BWS...amazing!
Barry has done this embellishment type stuff on a lot of stuff he's sold directly. I have seen a lot of his stuff that way. I guess it is the artist wanting to give you a full piece of art vs submitting lime at to a publisher to get colored. It looks more "finished".betterthanezra wrote:I agree with Steve I hope those aren't the actual originals and he used something to go over them. But Man those are just some amazing line work. Re: Eternal warrior reinked pages by BWS...amazing!
I would hazard a guess that maybe he did something like the industry trick where he has scanned the originals, maybe converted to a "blue line" tone and just drew like crazy over a light copy of the original work. Which still makes this original art as wellbetterthanezra wrote:I agree with Steve I hope those aren't the actual originals and he used something to go over them.
