I think he is a good actor but seems a tough fit for me to. But I don't know anything about any of the famous people social lives. I mean who cares what they do. Not like I'm kin to any.

But great publicity none the less.

"In talks" isn't a guarantee of anything. But it's good PR. I don't see him as a great fit for the role, but he is a fairly big name.

#1 I am happy to not be hearing Marky Mark again.

#2 I am glad the movie is getting SOME news.

#3 Is this just talk to build up the movie, Or to say later on "we could have had ___ as this role..... but we went this way."?

#4 PLEASE no Tom Cruise

#5 I would watch this movie with Jack Black playing Bloodshot (Just meaning, I would watch this movie no matter what)

Jared Leto is a great actor.

I think that he could serve the role well.

Otherwise, Tom Hardy could be a good Bloodshot. He has the build already and he has proven that he can act well.
This is what happens when you try to work...

My only real worry is this: Would bad casting kill the franchise before it starts? We're all fans. We want everything that everyone else has. We've been told that this or Harbinger is going to kick-start a cinematic universe. Would Leto's casting be bad? Would it hamper the stuff outside of these movies? I like to think no but I'm not in the movie business.

I've seen a lot of fans be wary of this but I think he's a far better choice than Marky Mark, so they are definitely trending upward as far as casting goes.

I know a lot of people say they'd see it no matter who is in the role but we're all dedicated fans of the comic character. Who should it be?

Leto has fans, so as a minimum, Valiant will have Leto fans taking a look at who and what Valiant is.

Again, this is just like the Rae Sremmurd move. Millions of fans love Leto, a few (hundred? A thousand?) could jump over to Valiant and become fans of Valiant. It's a numbers game, they could throw up every single male actor in Hollywood, and a few of their fans will take a look at who and what Valiant is.

Valiant needs to build a bigger base, and all this rumor talk is helping create that base. Ninjak VS the VU, just wait for that ish to drop.... It could crack the sky wide open!

+1

Whether Jared Leto ever does anything for Valiant, it opens the door for all kinds of actors and actresses to talk about Valiant roles. Instead of saying "Valiant-who?" they'll be saying "Valiant, the company that was talking to Jared Leto" - and if they're not already a bigger star than Jared Leto, it'll be something they could definitely take seriously.

Leto kinda came out of left field, would not have thought of him till this news.

My list would be - Tom Hardy (all around good fit)
Channing Tatum (big fan base- body type, acting is somewhat good)
Taylor Kitsch (great is Lone Survivor, and John Carter is a underrated film)
Joe Manganiello (Body Type- Fan Base - pretty good actor)
Alexander Ludwig (Young, played big role in Hunger Games, and pretty good in Vikings)
Travis Fimmel (good actor for this role, gaining a good size fan base. If not Bloodshot he would be a good XO or EW)

Who do you think?

I can't see Leto as Bloodshot but I always keep the Michael Keaton as Batman when casting is concerned.

I've read 3 articles about this today and each one references the Angelo Mortalli version of Bloodshot. Is this just bad research (quick look at Wikipedia) or was it part of a press release?

Jared Leto is too small and skinny... it works for the Joker but not Bloodshot.

Since this was a leak (and not an intentional one) there was no press release.

If Leto is not available, perhaps they could cast Gwyneth Paltrow.

Gwyneth Paltrow. Haha. Leto is a good supporting actor. (Lord of war was cool) I'm in favor of an up and coming actor that has something to prove. I don't want a watered down flashy Bloodshot, I want a tortured, dark Bloodshot.

On the other hand, there are people who think his Joker (and Suicide Squad in general) were not all that great... and that could work against him.

But any way you slice it, the speculation is getting press.

THIS I could get behind! Leto for Bloodsquirt! Yes! The fact that the article this news is from says he's 'in talks' about it kinda conflicts with the ComicCon interview on 22 July where Dino says that they have their Bloodshot actor for sure, but they can't tell who it is. Either it's Leto and he's using the 'in talks' line to leak the info to the world, or it's not him because he wouldn't be 'in talks' about it if they've got someone locked in already. Only time will tell I guess.

Does it actually say he's in talks to PLAY Bloodshot, or FOR Bloodshot? Those could mean 2 different things. Maybe he's playing Kozol?

Either way, whether you like him or not, he's an established actor who brings credibility to the film. All those people who always want some wrestler to play the role (baring some known talent like The Rock) never realize how that affects the perception of a film.
