Divinity 1 1:40 (LaRosa variant)

Post by Summydad1 »

I recently purchased this book in CGC 9.6 to add to my modern Valiant collection. I am relatively ignorant on modern variant covers. I just buy the ones that look cool and seem rare. I was remotely aware of this book but didn't properly research it till afterwards and it seems really rare. Is there anyone out there that knows the print run? Btw, the art is stunning.

There are approx. 350 copies that were printed.

Thanks. That's what I read but I figured it wasn't that rare because it was only 1:40. Is that because retailers just weren't very interested in Divinity?

It's because retailers do not like to gamble on anything unless it has Harley Quinn, Deadpool, or Venom on the cover.

Then, are somehow shocked when something new becomes interesting.

Truth!

People are JUST NOW starting to see that the Shadowman #13 1:20 and 1:50 (first Punk Mambo) are red hot finds, if you can find them....
This is news many of us already knew

Understood. I really hope the movies get made and that they are entertaining to the general public. We will all like them due to the personal ties we have. I also can't wait to see the chaos when "new" fans try to find the rare or high graded variants and knowing I have them tucked away in my collection.

The 13 cover has been my favorite cover since I restarted collecting. .I would consider giving my left nut but for the original cover

The original cover art for the Davis 1:50 actually was sold on eBay a while back. Of course it was listed for auction right after I dropped a ton of cash on a few other must-have covers, so it was not feasible to obtain at that time.

However, I have been told that the original cover art for Eternal Warrior #5 (Mack 1:50) is still available... :hm:

I saw the Eternal Warrior #5 1:50 cover at C2E2 at David Mack's booth...he was asking $3000 for it...it looked absolutely amazing in person.

Had I not gone all in for the Bloodshot #1 and Harbinger Wars original covers earlier this year, that Mack would be mine!

Just to be clear, that's for the original art, right? I know that's a tough variant, but not that tough.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

But in the context of the conversation (David Mack art), it is probably this one:

S'okay, that last one is the only one of the three that I don't own. Which for you is good news, and bad news, really. Bad, in that I have no idea who does own it. Good, in that if I did own it, it could only be pried away from my cold, dead hands. Heh
