Convention Meetings.

While the Valiant boards were gone and I was doing some deep reading at the CGC forums, I noticed that many of the posters get togther at conventions to talk about the hobby. It would be freaking amazing to meet some of the Valiant posters and talk valiant comics for a couple of hours at one of the comic conventions coming up this year. What do you all think?

Well if anyone wants to get together down south I am in. Man I was going through serious withdrawls while this board was down... I do not know fo too many cons that are around the atlanta area....there was one last weekend and was alright and I picked up some decent stuff but they seem few and far between. But I would love to meet some of you guys...

The forum has only been up a day or two ... give it another week and I bet we're back up to 60ish. Maybe not. Hard to say how many people were active here, 400 members, would be very surprised if 100 had posted in the last 3 months though.

I'm up for a meeting down south. Are their any big conventions down there coming up this spring/summer? I'd perfer a big one. 200 or less does not a convention make. (that's more like a gathering)

Well it looks like there are atleast 2 cons that I might be able to make. There is one in nashville in march and one in atlanta in april I think...I always check out this site when looking for cons..

http://www.comicbookconventions.com/conventions.htm

it may not be a comlpete listing but I would think that it would get all the major ones. Well those are what I know about...I went to one this weekend that was a little one day affair and I would assume that there was about maybe 20 dealers and about 200 hundred people...it was not that huge but I did pick up some good cheap valiants...actually that nashville one sound kinda good because my girl really loves that city and I could probably get her to come with me...LMK

DawgPhan suggested we all meet at Vegas this year. Mark your calendors and get your *SQUEE* there. Two reasons you should go, 1) you only live once so why not visit new and exciting places like Vegas. 2) you need a reason to get off the damn computer and visit the real world.

Possible Valiant convention alternative: Philadelphia.

I'm always game to talk Valiant at any show. I'll be at Wizard World Philly covering it for Newsarama and I'll be easy to spot...I'll have one of those snazzy name tags!

I'm always quarter trolling at the Philly con that happens almost every month ( http://www.philadelphiacomic-con.com/ ) which just happens to be coming up THIS weekend. Look for me...I'm usually the one with the backwards baseball cap, MP3 player, and a snotty look on my face (and perhaps one of my Army PT shirts...they are just too comfortable). And I'm usually the one trying to find those Valiants I still need in the quarter bins...so if you see me...COME CHAT UP!

Conventions

Post by Steve Topper »

I try to get to Mid-Ohio-Con whenever possible. This year is supposed to be a big deal as this is the 25th anniversary of the con and John Byrne is saying this will be his last convention appearance ever.

Unfortunately, the timing of the convention is terrible for people not in a reasonable distance from Columbus -- the Saturday/Sunday after Thanksgiving. Given I'm only an hour away from Columbus, my wife gives me permission to go provided I don't spend too much money (which for her means NONE!)

Steve
