Gonzalo Mayo

Is anyone interested in Gonzalo Mayo? He was a house artist for Valiant and did many titles and has the Valiant-house style of art.

I would like to do a commission series with Mayo. He drew all Valiant characters at one point and he was a key unit... like Rags... to meet the deadline.

Is anyone interested? I would suggest a series of 8 images, all based on your preference of hero.

I just spoke to Gonzalo's friend Maria who told me he has an ear implant and is essentially deaf and he speaks broken English. I asked if she could type for him and she said yes.

This is a rare opportunity because it's difficult to get him (he also lives in Florida).

Gonzalo I met once via Jeff Gomez at the Valiant offices back in the day and he worked on some VALIANT books as well as Valiant books and he is excited to do something with me.

What do you guys think?

For commission, if it's end of year or early next year, then I would be interested (since you're lining up Jim Calafiore). Do you have recent examples of his work or sketches?

BTW, do you know if Gonzalo kept any of his OA? I really like his ink over Lapham's pencils in Harbinger. I would be totally interested in his pages if they are available.

And I am sure he is still at the top of his game. But I'll ask.

He is also famous for drawing Vampirella so he has the talent.

I got MagnusR on board to do a commission piece of Magnus. It's quite expensive but I believe he will do an excellent job. For you guys- it will show you Gonzo's talent and abilities.

THIS is the level of quality Gonzo adds to the piece. And he ain't cheap.

Gonzo is a next year project but I asked him make this piece now just to show your guys what he can do.

The ink piece cost $220 and is a bargain.

I am looking for the Big Boys of this site to do something with Gonzo. The "Magnus 12 Alt" piece is proof this man is on top of his game, and it's a bargain compared to what you get in return.

I would like a series of 10 pieces plus Magnus' cover.

The entry fee is $200 per piece.

As far as what you want for your $200 you'll get it.
