I've owned 3 copies, and sold 1. I paid $175 for my first raw. It's an expensive book, and very difficult to find.

I know the X-O Manowar #1 Humble Bundle is a decently rare book. Do believe they only had around 200-250 for those, maybe that could be added to the list?
Also, the Humble Bundle Virgin, roughly 10 of those are known to be out there, I have one. There are two qualified that are CGC'ed at 9.8.

Re: Top 100 Rarest Valiant books 2012-present? Maybe...
All copies of the X-O Manowar #1 Humble Bundle are "Virgin" (which is a regular industry terms that means that a comic doesn't have the title or any info on the front cover, just art).TheeBaldMoose wrote:I know the X-O Manowar #1 Humble Bundle is a decently rare book. I think you're saying there are around 200-250 of those, which are all signed.
Then, I also think you're saying there are around 10 copies which did not get signed.
Is that correct?

I should have clarified, and I see my error, thank Greg.
The Virgin that were not signed. I do believe there were 10 of those, two are CGC'ed (I own one).

What does "Humble Bundle" mean?
I am just curious if this comic may have been included in the Collector's Paradise issues #1-3 "all covers set" that was sold?

It's a site that gives away digital content (games, books, comics) for charity. The amount of content you get depends on the amount you donate to the charity. So Company A can generate $$$ for Charity B by selling tiers of "free" content, and then bonuses if the total amount hits a threshold.Juki wrote:What does "Humble Bundle" mean?

HumbleBundle.com is a site for digital comics and games. They ran a special which provided a physical comic, the X-O Manowar #1 Humble Bundle edition (virgin cover, no title or wording) if you spent at least a minimum amount on the digital comics Valiant package they had for a limited time. All copies were supposed to be signed by Lewis LaRosa. A few aren't signed, but I don't know anything official about the actual numbers, just what has been mentioned in this discussion.Juki wrote:What does "Humble Bundle" mean?

Ok....I think I understand. So, this is the site that sells digital comics (donating the proceeds). So, the "Humble Bundle comic" represents this organization. Similar to the"Collector's Paradise edition" representing that comic store.nycjadie wrote:It's a site that gives away digital content (games, books, comics) for charity. That's what I recall. 2K. Not a super rare book at all by VEI standards, but it is a coveted one that most people who purchased it don't sell very often. This is one that went directly to fans boxes, as opposed to stores first.sonicdan wrote:Lewis told me back in 2017 that he signed 2K copies.DirtbagSailor wrote:Can we confirm the QTY in circulation of:

RICO,
Judging from the known print runs this would be my best "guesses" as to the actual Imperium print numbers:
350 copies - Imperium #1 (Braithwaite 1:40)
Imperium #1 (1:20) - 750
Imperium #2 (1:20) - 450
Imperium #3 (1:20) - 450
Imperium #4 (1:20) - 450
Imperium #5 (1:20) - 450
Imperium #6 (1:20) - 400
Imperium #7 (1:20) - 400
Imperium #8 (1:20) - 400
Imperium #9 (1:20) - 400
Imperium #10 (1:20) - 350
Imperium #11 (1:20) - 350
Imperium #12 (1:20) - 300
Imperium #13 (1:20) - 300
Imperium #14 (1:20) - 300
Imperium #15 (1:20) - 300
Imperium #16 (1:20) - 300
These would be my best guesses at print runs. Hopefully we will know hard numbers at some point.

Imperium #1 (1:40) = 350 copies CONFIRMED
These were my print run calculations a while back; however, as we have seen with many of the previously CONFIRMED print runs from Dino, I might need to double these numbers to actually be in the ball park!
Imperium #1 (1:20) = 479 copies estimated (round up to 400)
Imperium #2 (1:20) = 306 copies estimated (round up to 325)
Imperium #3 (1:20) = 299 copies estimated (round up to 325)
Imperium #4 (1:20) = 291 copies estimated (round up to 300)
Imperium #5 (1:20) = 270 copies estimated (round up to 275)
Imperium #6 (1:20) = 287 copies estimated (round up to 300)
Imperium #7 (1:20) = 305 copies estimated (round up to 325)
Imperium #8 (1:20) = 298 copies estimated (round up to 325)
Imperium #9 (1:20) = 248 copies estimated (round up to 275)
Imperium #10 (1:20) = 250 copies estimated (round up to 275)

Those numbers are entirely possible. Note that ALL of the confirmed print run numbers have been quantities such as 100, 150, 175 etc. and NOT 117, 153, 171 etc.Juki wrote:RICO,
Judging from the known print runs this would be my best "guesses" as to the actual Imperium print numbers:
350 copies - Imperium #1 (Braithwaite 1:40)
Imperium #1 (1:20) - 750
Imperium #2 (1:20) - 450
Imperium #3 (1:20) - 450
Imperium #4 (1:20) - 450
Imperium #5 (1:20) - 450
Imperium #6 (1:20) - 400
Imperium #7 (1:20) - 400
Imperium #8 (1:20) - 400
Imperium #9 (1:20) - 400
Imperium #10 (1:20) - 350
Imperium #11 (1:20) - 350
Imperium #12 (1:20) - 300
Imperium #13 (1:20) - 300
Imperium #14 (1:20) - 300
Imperium #15 (1:20) - 300
Imperium #16 (1:20) - 300

They have also been 150%-200% higher than early estimates.

I know the numbers are not exact based upon what Dino has posted but how hard would it be to update this list using the same formula for all books since January 2016? It would at least provide a relative ranking of how scarce one book is to another book?

I may do that if I have a some time soon. Yes, my estimates will be wrong, but they will likely still indicate relative scarcity. For example, I estimated that some books were rare, and indeed they 100% are; however, there were 400 copies as opposed to 200, etc.magnus20009 wrote:I know the numbers are not exact based upon what Dino has posted but how hard would it be to update this list using the same formula for all books since January 2016? Re: Top 100 Rarest Valiant books 2012-present? Maybe...
Let's not forget another very very important FACT!
The print runs of the variants you listed are the number that the ratio of the variant says they needed to print. (1:40 Braithwaite variant had 350 copies, which is confirmed by Dino) These were more then what was required (I calculated that they needed 250 to cover the ratio). Dino said the extras (100 in this case) were to cover damages and needs in case of problems. He also stated in an interview that after returns and what not the extras (minus a few to keep in case) were destroyed. That includes the books that didn't meet the requirement. (For instance, many retailers only order a few copies for their store and did not qualify for the variant.) So apparently, those were destroyed as well.
I think the print runs are awesome to go by, but by what Dino said, the actual amount left in existence can be less than the print run.
Just saying!
