Valiant Price Guide updated --- regularly!
The CGC sales records provided by GPAnalysis.com have been incorporated in the Valiant Price Guide.
These calculations will be updated daily (counting back the past 30 or 90 days) for CGC sales.
I'll update the CGC sales themselves at least weekly using the GPAnalysis.com data.
I'm still working on a way to estimate a fair Near Mint value from recorded data... but that's quite a bit trickier to automate.
Enjoy! http://www.valiantfan.com/guide" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
P.S. The most recent individual CGC sales records can be quickly viewed here:
http://www.valiantmarket.com/issue/recentcgcsales" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
P.P.S. A new page was added for most active CGC sales:
http://www.valiantmarket.com/issue/activecgcsales" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
P.P.P.S. Another new page added for "highest average" (minimum of 2 sales):
http://www.valiantmarket.com/issue/averagecgcsales" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Valiant Price Guide updated --- regularly!
Very cool! I knew X-O 4 was going to be up there. I think that's the tough book to get, under Harbinger 1. Even more so than Solar 3. That doesn't mean, of course, that it's more valuable. Just tough to get, and that alone will increase price.

Re: Valiant Price Guide updated --- regularly!
Also super helpful are the stats on Harbinger 1 raw w/ coupon. This suggest the going rate is $154, which I think is accurate, and is the highest I ever have recalled this book getting, even in the crazy early days. I saw these sell for $125 back in 1992-3ish. When accounting for inflation, it's probably much more, but still - $150+.
As I was moving my boxes last night, I did look at my master set for Harbinger, and specifically issue 1. It's definitely a candidate for 9.6-9.8. I haven't slabbed my "master set" books yet, but I think I might start, and replace it with a lesser copy. This book is just so valuable now in high grade, that it might make sense.

Re: Valiant Price Guide updated --- regularly!
Not to belabor this, but this is super interesting to have so much data in an easy comparative fashion. Harbinger Pink looks to be a steal at $140. At it's lowest, pre-news, it was $100-125. Those are difficult to get in high grade. There is a common defect in the upper left corner that looks like a thumb press. I have several copies with that defect that I've received from several sources. I'm not sure how CGC would treat it, as it's an uncommon defect in books I've seen, but it's very common in Harbinger Pink. A 9.8 is not easy to get.

That's good to know. I picked up my first Pink this week, and noticed a similar defect. It is hardly noticible, but I wonder how it would grade.

Re: Valiant Price Guide updated --- regularly!
It's definitely a manufacturing defect, but I have no idea how CGC would grade it. Super curious though.
