Unity Golden Ticket back from CGC

Post by Beware Cyclops »

I was pretty much spot on with the grade back in July!

Super awesome. One of the best slabs I've seen, hands-down. A keeper. So glad it's in the hands of a board member.

How many are accounted for now? 3?

Yeah, go figure! The copy from Ed, whose stores seem to handle theirs with care, gets a 9.4. And the one from Forbidden Planet, where the copies get handled quite a bit (then manhandled by me), gets the 9.6.

Different graders? Even though there is a protocol for grading some graders may be more lenient than others? :?

the uk forbidden planet like to damage all their comics before shelving them. If by some chance they missed one, after they have grabbed the spine in their clenched fist and scanned it. Then banged them on the bench a few times to line them up( like when you have playing cards and want to slide them back into the pack) only to deposit them in an over size bag so they blend in half while you walk ~ I am truely suprised it came back 9.6. Someon was not following procedure.
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Nice! What was the word by the UPC that made it a Golden Ticket?

You'd think so. But it's actually printed in the blood of 1,000 Valiant interns, interns sacrificed to satisfy the Editorial staff's drunk induced addiction for hookers and blow!!!!!!

Oh wait, I think it is golden ink. :|

Awesome Slab! As many others have said, I'm glad it's in the hands of a board member. Did all 5 Gold Tickets eventually get found? I understand that it's obviously too late for the reward, but I'd still love to know if there is a possibility of finding 1 or 2 more of these out there.

I think 3 of these ended up in the hands of board members, correct?

Congrats, BC! That's a pretty fair grade, and it makes it one of the rarest Valiant books of all. I'm also happy to see it in a board member's collection. :thumb:
