I think I have a Bloodshot #0 Platinum variant.....

So i took it to two different local comic book stores and got a very different answer. The first one i went to i had the owner tell me it was a regular chromium version and was worth about $2. I asked about the price not being in the corner and he said that was normal for the regular version and it wasnt a platinum. I was like OK. Then he said, even if it was a platinum, they are only going for about $15 on ebay. Since this seemed so 180 from what i've read on here, i went to another store and they couldnt tell me anything about it. He basically said send it to CGC and they would authenticate and grade it so i could figure out what to do with it. However if it wasnt the real deal i'd be wasting $40 on a $2 comic.

Is there anything else i can look at this to validate its worth investing into?

Listen to what people here are telling you, not your local comic store guys. The folks here are Valiant fanatics and know what they are talking about. The local comic shop guys most likely aren't Valiant fanatics and don't really know much about this particular obscure error book from a period in time when Valiant was churning out flashy books that are no longer valuable (remember the price you originally paid for it). They're generalists. The folks here are specialists.

Considering that almost every member of this board would trade you their first born for a BS platinum, it's worth it to CGC the book.

In this particular case, sending it to CGC is less for the final grade and more for the verification that it wasn't tampered with or altered in some way to appear to be the error version when it's not.

Even if it grades relatively low it still has value. The last one sold was by a long time member Bloodshot. His CGC 9.6 copy sold for something like $1725. That truly is an awesome find!

So hopefully nobody goes digging into me, but it was in effingham, il at village square mall roughly around 1998. I know I read a couple were found in this area of the country with others being found in Terre haute Indiana and other places in Indiana.

To be fair errors are usually mostly a novelty item, maybe worth a few bucks more because some people like them. It just turns out in this case that there are enough Valiant collectors that want this error and a very limited supply, so the price shoots up.

I dont blame the guy, he probably didnt know. The only thing that bothered me about it was how confident he was about how worthless it was. He could have been like the other guy and said, yeah it might be i'm not totally sure.
