Yesterday I picked up a mini Turok comic from my LCS. The book is 3"x6" in size. The card that came with it says its from '74 (although the copyright on the inside says '72 and issue #5)and part of a limited edition promo set. Anyone have any other info about this book?

If you mean a height of 3" and a width of 6" -- kinda like a comic strip, then yes, these were shoe store giveaways and there were at least six that I'm aware of (and have in my collection): Turok, Star Trek, Dagar the Invincible are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Bud Plant found a stash of the sets a year or so ago and made them available. Diamond solicited them in Previews.

Those are the ones I was talking about as well. I've checked and the set includes eight booklets not six.

Dark Shadows
Star Trek
Twilight Zone
Ripley's Believe It or Not
Turok
Star Trek (again)
Doctor Spektor
Dagar the Invincible
