Anybody have some spare FCBD issues?

Post by bamaphilosopher »

I had to go to the three comic stores around Birmingham kind of late today, and none of them had the free Valiant issues anymore, and my own store did not save me one because they put all the free issues on the table! Grr! They said they'd try to locate me one. I guess it's good all the Valiant titles were given out, but I was hoping to get three copies today and didn't even get one.

In the meantime, I thought I'd come here and see if anyone has 2-3 spares they are looking to get rid of...pm me and I'll send you the shipping cost via Paypal. I suppose I could wait and find them on ebay, but I just hate to pay money for what should have been a free issue that should have been pulled for me by my local comic shop (but, alas, wasn't...sigh).

Again, if anyone can help me, please pm me. Many thanks in advance!
For my Valiant: Kindle Worlds stories, check out my amazon author central page, http://www.amazon.com/Richmond-West/e/B ... 204&sr=8-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Sort by price low to high, and the Valiant Kindle Worlds stories will pop to the top. :)

Did you try the store by the bullring? They usually have a spare behind the counter for fcbd.

I was unable to procure a copy here in London, but if I have any luck over the long weekend I will send it your way.

Same exact story for me.

I also didn't get a Pullbox Rai. :(

If anyone wants to help me out too, I'd appreciate it.

Many, many thanks Chris! You're a lifesaver.

Lesson learned: next year, I'd better be there at opening.

And, I'm going to gripe and gripe at my local comic shop that they had better save me the Valiant issues, since I get everything Valiant all year from them. I tried to get them to save me one, and they hemmed and hawed about it. But next year, they better! :)

Indeed. :thumb:

Funnily enough, the comics shop you mentioned is likely where I collected my issues (Nostalgia and Comics). :)

That's the place. Funny how small the big, stupid world is.

I remember going to BICS in 2010 and my mate was allowed to store his backpack there for a box of Krispy Kremes from John Lewis (or was it Selfridges?)

My store isn't Valiant friendly, so he only orders enough to cover people's pull lists and that's it. He didn't order the Handbook, so I couldn't get it on Free Comic Book Day. That was literally the ONLY book I wanted to get!

If anyone has an extra one and is willing to help a fellow Valiant brother out, I'd be grateful!

I feel like a broken record asking (almost) every year, but I had to work mids Saturday so by the time the store opened I was getting 40 winks so I didn't make it in.

I saw mkb28's offer, and missed out. I'm mostly interested in the Handbook more than the Armor Hunters preview. I'm going to see if my LCS has any today (also interested in the DC one as well) and will get back.

If anyone has one (or both) to offer for a fair price (shipping + hassle getting them) let me know.

I've had extremely generous board members offer in the past and again I feel bad asking yet again, if nothing else I'll get digital copies and won't feel too bad about missing out (had to do this with DC Universe #0 )

PM me if you can help, and hopefully today I'll know whether or not I need to take up the generous offer or not.

Thanks. :)
