Arrived home to a surprise. My long await LaRosa commission arrived. Inside there were two sketches! One of these Lewis didn't like so he did another. Very happy with the outcome!

The size of the shins on the sketch are mismatched for the perspective if you are as good of an artist as LaRosa. That sketch would have been unbelievably good for most artists. He's just better. :D

Usually I don't have time for the so called comic cons in Stockholm. They're fun, but mostly about gaming and movies. At the last moment I realized that Barry Kitson was one of only five artists present so me and Lucas went there and boy am I happy we did. We had a great chat with Barry and his sales rep, picked up some art prelims and most of all he went over and above on an amazing sketch cover:

Justin Greenwood (The Last Siege) had never drawn a Valiant character, never attempted to do one. So, at Rose City, I handed him a Bloodshot TPB (Setting the World On Fire) and told him Bloodshot and Vin Diesel. While not very Vin-like, I do really like his play with light, and it's a fun pieceImage

Got two new sketch covers in Paris. Asked Lee Garbett to try something different and asked Trevor Hairsine just to do what he felt like. Very happy with both.

Love the texture here; is that water colors or something else?
It's probably my most favorite one!

Was some kind of white pen. Think it's called Uni Paint Marker. At another con I had seen him do a Batman in white on black paper and that had impressed me so much that I specifically asked him to draw on this black cover.

Those are both great in their own way but I've been drawn back to looking at the Trevor Hairsine Gilad sketch multiple times all day. I've been fascinated by what artists can create from nothing and sometimes with such seeming simplicity.

Time to ressurect this thread. Two cover sketches from Stockhom last year (one on a back cover). Darick Robertson and Jeff Johnson.

PS, regardless of how I orient the pictures, they are not shown with the topside up.
