Whatever happened to the Eternal Warrior Valiant Masters?
I seem to remember that this was supposed to be released August-ish, but looking at Amazon I see that it was apparently released in February and retails for over $600!? WTF happened?

It sold out so fast that no one including the stores ever saw a copy of it?

So it did actually get released?
I have been seeing and hearing about its delayed release for over a month before and was wondering if it was rumour or not.
$600 for this book. Are the pages Gold plated?

Re: Whatever happened to the Eternal Warrior Valiant Masters
I think all of the masters editions have shipped late thus far. So not a huge surprise. With the monthlies, trades and hardcovers all coming out now, they are probably the last in line to get VEIs attention.

The EW Masters has been resolicited for March/April timeframe.
I wonder what it would be like to be a lonely, muck-encrusted monster? Probably be an improvement.

There have been about three different release dates posted here by different people, so can anyone find a web page that actually has some sort of reliable news on it with a release date and post a link?
I'm not going to buy this book, but the fact that people are apparently selling copies for $600 when the book hasn't actually come out has turned this into a sort of Loch Ness Monster mystery in my head and I'm intrigued to see what the reality of the situation actually is.
EDIT: F**K ME! I just checked the .com page again out of curiosity and two of the sellers have removed their 'books' from sale, and the remaining one has gone up to $1,586.49!!!!
It was only $600 yesterday

Re: Whatever happened to the Eternal Warrior Valiant Masters
The book sellers on Amazon.com often use programs to determine books prices based on:DirtbagSailor wrote:Looks like we're at $2,092.43 on Amazon right now...
- interest (all of us clicking on the page)
- competition (some actually want to price HIGHER than the competition, but only by a few cents, so they don't underprice their books)
- estimated ability to fill the order
So... in the case of Valiant Masters: Eternal Warrior ... a book that doesn't exist yet...
One seller's program calculates there are zero in stock, BUT, that the seller could probably find a copy and profit if the price is high enough.
Not wanting to price the book too low (even though they don't have one), they're pricing the book higher than the competition, BUT...
the competition doesn't have the book either... and the competition keeps pricing their books based on an algorithm, too, making the price spiral upwards.
If no one fixes the program... how high could it go?
Here's the answer:

Re: Whatever happened to the Eternal Warrior Valiant Masters
The book has not released yet and I still have an existing order with Amazon. It was originally solicited for an August release and I tweeted to Valiant a little bit ago asking the status but no reply was forthcoming. I don't see it on the VU website under the Valiant Masters section or the Upcoming Releases page.

I had my cousin ask at the Baltimore Comic Con booth this morning and as was noted above, it's been pushed to 2014.

Just think how much this copy on amazon will have gone up to by then
EDIT: Since my last post a few hours ago, the book has increased in price by about $2000.00. Fantastic!
