"He died bringing back that infernal machine thing for King and Country"
Ancient Mesopotamia...King and Country.
For some reason I doubt they would use the term, country in that day and age. This slip up with the one I pointed out in X-O #2 causes me to miss the anal retentive attention to detail that Shooter had as editor.
I know it's a minor detail but it's the little details that matter.

What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

otherwise, I am intrigued. one of the details I enjoyed most was that it was Gilad against Ivar and Aram in the old books.
I am intrigued, though.

I love the line art on this. Not sure on the colors. The tie in to the Bible is cool.

Of course they wouldn't use the term...because they wouldn't be speaking in English anyway.Zaphod wrote:"He died bringing back that infernal machine thing for King and Country"

Re: **SPOILER** Archer & Armstrong #1 PREVIEW!
I've stayed away from spoilers until today... When I couldn't resist.
This is gonna make the wait MUCH harder but I'm glad to have read it. This is now my number one most wanted title so far. I was a little worried before. Now I'm certain I will love everything coming out.

It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.
Re: **SPOILER** Archer & Armstrong #1 PREVIEW!
Wow. No holding back there. Will be interesting to read. Those few pages did feel more like VH2 than Valiant, but that can still change. The very first text box did have an A&A feel to it. I am happy to see Ivar and hope he comes close to his original version. Why make Gilad the youngest btw?

Re: **SPOILER** Archer & Armstrong #1 PREVIEW!
Ok, so the interesting bits from this preview for me were.
Who did they take the Boon from?
If those who had the boon aren't human, what are they?
There seems to be a place called the Faraway? Or am I reading that wrong?
Obviously the brothers were not immortal prior to this, Is it reasonable to assume this event is the source of their immortality.
Why was Ivar acting enough out of character that Aram questions him. This seems to go beyond a mere disagreement.
Gilad looks pretty puny here in comparison to the FCBD art. I wonder if that is intentional, or maybe he's just had 5000 years to bulk up.

Re: **SPOILER** Archer & Armstrong #1 PREVIEW!
I'm thinking this may be "the event", much in the same way that Solar created the VH1 universe which allowed for super-human powers. I also think that there is a lot of potential to grow this in to something bigger in the future.orbitalshift wrote:Obviously the brothers were not immortal prior to this, Is it reasonable to assume this event is the source of their immortality.
I read this as Ivar being distraught and irrational about his brother's death and being willing to do anything to change it.Why was Ivar acting enough out of character that Aram questions him. This seems to go beyond a mere disagreement.
I'm guessing whatever happened after the event changed all of them pretty drastically. I don't know much about Ivar, but that is definitely not the Aram I know. I guess when Gilad turns eternal he stays the noble warrior that he was, and after 5000 years of fighting for people you're bound to get a little stronger.Gilad looks pretty puny here in comparison to the FCBD art. I wonder if that is intentional, or maybe he's just had 5000 years to bulk up.
Re: **SPOILER** Archer & Armstrong #1 PREVIEW!
I'm going to try and hold off until at LEAST Bloodshot #1 comes out to read this. I want to read it the first time on an actual page. That's 2+ weeks away which means I'll probably fail.
Spooooon!!!!

Re: **SPOILER** Archer & Armstrong #1 PREVIEW!
Loved it!!
Are they immortal yet???? Not sure.
Is the Faraway similar to the Lost Land??
Glad to see all three!
Glad to see that theyve already been on adventures together.
Looks like some possible Vine tie ins?
