I read it an hour ago :thumb: EPIC I love the movement the story is taking. Cary Nord is AMAZING every page is a Masterpiece.

This is what reading comics should be :cloud9:

Dino again Thank You for the work you and the VEI team have put into it. Absolutely it shows.

Dino, well done.

The pre released pages did not distract from reading the comic in print. If that makes sence.
Example - thieve of thieves issue one, I didn,t like because I felt ripped off as I had read so much of it in online preview form.

With xo 1 I felt I got a whole story even with seeing a preview of it.

Very catching issue 1, as in well I liked it and want to read more. Sometimes when you read first issue you are unsure weather to continue, this issue wants me to buy issue two, rather than try issue two/ three to see if I will drop it.

Art is cool, so is the story see above. No adds ? Did it have adds? Made the story flow well. I just checked - it did have an add or two but I was so involved I could,t recall.

Please make aja cover into a poster or print. That would be truly cool.

Looking forward to more.

Just got mine and flicked through, immediately noticed some awesome moments. Gunna have a proper read tonight. 1st time I've ever got 2 covers for something. Even managed to get two other people in store to give it a shot :thumb:

Pullbox variant was on the shelves though which I thought was odd. Or am I missing the point?

Is Valiant back? This is the first I've heard of it.

:?

Seriously, I ordered mine through DCBS but decided yesterday that I couldn't wait until the end of the month to get it so I ordered a copy through Midtown comics yesterday.

Ordered through DCBS too, but going to the LCS later to get it in my hands today. Hopefully I'll be able to find the 1:20 variant...man I love that cover.

betterthanezra: Thanks man, we're super proud of the book. You're going to LOVE the next issue! You've never see a story like X-O #2 anywhere but in comics.

ian_house: Nice job! Two more potential Valiant readers. Great work!

I enjoyed it greatly. 4.5/5

I love some of the departures from the original book. The baby, the nature of the armor, the aliens being different. I like that there is more character work / building even in an action filled first issue.

The story flowed very well. The one spot where Aric's father kind of took a back seat to him when asked to talk some reason into him pulled me out of the story a bit, but that was a part of establishing how headstrong the character is.

I've seen some complaints online on the coloring. Before I saw those complaints, I noticed it as well. The B&W art did look alot cleaner than the colored pages. Take a look at the double page spread for instance. The coloring didn't do the pencils and inks on that page justice. This is understandable for a first issue though. I'm sure it will be worked out over the next few issues. Edit - I just looked over some of the pages again. I guess it could be the inks darkening things up. I love Gaudiano, but he's a bit of an odd choice on this book for me. His darker, almost noirish style of inking would suit something like Bloodshot better than this book. A great inker, but his style is..... darker than I'd like on x-o.

I think I agree with you about the ink. Too dark. The pencils were just beautiful!
