Does anyone actually have a Graded Nintendo set?

Just curious, I’ve been chugging along on it myself and have 37 different issues graded so far. It’s been obviously challenging and much more expensive now then it was even 2 years ago.

I had a HUGE Nintendo Power collection back in the day that disappeared with a girlfriend many, many years ago
I've always been surprised that we don't see more graded Nintendo Power, Wizard Magazine and Toyfare to be honest.

Not a set, per se, but I have collected a few really nice ones. I don't have an appetite for the prices that the books are going for these days. It went from zero to 120mph in 6 seconds, I feel. I'm guessing it's fueled by the video game collectible craze that started about 2 years ago. My interest in these books is Valiant related, at best, so I've always viewed them as overpriced (at least for my interest). But here we are, and they are multiples more for even a decent raw. My raw collection is far from complete, but I add a book here and there when I see them in decent condition.

Honestly, I'm much more nostalgic for those Nintendo Power magazines. I used to subscribe and would pour over each issue like it was the bible. The maps were especially helpful in the pre-Internet age.

So I’m still missing two issues to have a complete set of everything published but also the prices people are asking is just crazy. Even raw prices.

If someone is willing to be level headed at least I still need
Zelda #5 1st print $1.95 cover
Zelda #1 2nd print $1.50 cover that completes my at least a copy raw or graded of everything 🤞🏻

Please let me know 🙏🏻

I have almost every Valiant Nintendo book ever published. I just need  two to be complete. I still need Valiant Illustrated Action Books - BATTLE AGAINST BOWSER and The Best of Super Mario Bros HC- with the Mallard Logo on Spine (I have the Valiant logo version on the spine).

In regards to CGC I was working on a complete Nintendo CGC set to go along with my complete VH1 set I am working on but current prices mean I am not continuing for the time being as the books aren't worth that much to me. I've got the #1 registry for the set and it can be seen at

Ohhhh....
I just realized you were talking about the Valiant Nintendo books, not "Nintendo Power" magazine.

Should tell you something about my headspace with all of this stuff as I get older.

I still have all my Nintendo Powers starting with number 1. I missed a few issues when I was broke in college, but otherwise subscribed the entire run. I even had the Nintendo Fun Club newsletters that predated the magazine (although I think those are missing now...) I still remember the excitement I had when I got the welcome letter signed by Howard Phillips.

Sorry to continue the derail of your thread, Brian...

I still show up every day and there are maybe two new posts, and a few new threads a week! If this is a measure of Valiant enthusiasm…. I think more people prefer FB these days.

This rarity popped up on eBay, and it looks like the condition is pretty nice. Most of the time I see these books they look like someone has had it in their back pocket for a week, and with coloring and cutouts.
