Re: X-O Manowar Unconquered Prestige 1 Printing Error

1] That XO misprint is a fun one, Chiclo! 2] VAlient is a great mash-up nickname for the new current chapter of Valiant’s publishing history! 3] re: The sidebar convo regarding expressing opinions around here - it’s not as simplistic as ‘sycophants vs. “honest” anger’… firstly that’s a narrow...

Re: Just not feeling it anymore

I also had a bit of a personally traumatic experience at the start of the year that dovetailed with that already growing urge to go through my personal belongings and collections, and trim it all down a bit. I needed a bit of psychological reset/mind clearing activity as the physical clutter felt t...

Re: Convention score

Right on, man. Im still looking for a copy of Harbinger #4 to replace the one I traded away in the late 90’s before all those issues lost their value (I got a really good copy of Conan #1 in exchange for a set of Harbinger #1-12 at the time). I love that pre-unity books are still revered as such a c...

Re: Comic Book New Year's Resolutions for 2024

I was going to post in this thread back in January to mention that I was feeling the urge to purge a little - this month I managed to do that extensively in my studio space area. I went through a hell of a lot of detritus from my past and cleared out a lot of stuff I felt no connection to any longer...

Re: Just not feeling it anymore

I’m still feeling it, I’m just feeling less of it lately. One element of that is certainly the aging effect. I like to continue to grow & learn from my life experiences as I go along, and actively engage in change when I feel that need as well (which is not necessarily often, I do tend to be com...

Re: Ninjak Superkillers #1

I thought this was an ok read. I like Mike Nortons art although this did feel a tad cartoonish. I also had not been following every Ninjak series prior to this one (I for sure skipped the Parker/Polido series) and definitely felt like I was missing something - where did these humanoid animal charact...

Re: Alien sales

Triggered alert here, I gotta say that I really despise that term “floppies”. They are *comic books*. The original format - the original name for them is *comic books*. All other formats that came afterwards like TPB’s have their *own* terms to differentiate them from the *original format*. Wh...

Re: Legacy Numbering

Yes, exactly. That's how Marvel does it. That *is* "legacy numbering". Many of the earlier re-numbered volumes don't have the legacy numbering on the cover, but they're still counted. It doesn't bug me. So, 174. Would you think to include Unconquered? That would push it to 180. Agree. Cou...

Hmmm… that’s interesting. Just checked Amazon (.ca) for a digital copy of XO Unconquered #4 and there’s no sign of it. Also no sign of the Ninjak Superkillers #1 either… but there *are* pre-orders for the *hardcover* trade editions of both XO Unconquered & Ninjak Superkillers on there… :hm: Som...

Re: Alien's VALIANT

I think Hickman or Ewing could definitely write up some awesome Harbinger story arcs that would build nicely off of Dysarts run on both Harbinger & Imperium and even Heisserer’s Secret Weapons. That would be really great to see. I would also love to see what Ewing might do with Shadowman - his ...

thats intersting... Nice to hear some positive enthusiasm for a good old-fashioned LCS trip on a VALIANT new release day! :thumb: Personally I am getting that X-O series as digital-only, and I’m sorry to say that I forgot about the Ninjak book coming out this week too - I’ll have to see if I can nab a copy of that one ...

Got my copy today - thankfully undamaged but that could have gone badly considering that packaging. Tissue paper around the book isn’t much help when it slides around inside the box!

Re: Alien's VALIANT

I would love to see a new take on the Generation Zero kids from the PRS storyline in Bloodshot… and at this point, something that ignores that Van Lente series that kind of ruined the potential of the group.

Re: What comics are you reading now?

I mostly have been reading Shadowman, Deadworld, Cerebus, and Batman One of my favourite claims to fame is my appearance as a zombie in issue #6 of the image-era Deadworld series (c2005?) - I’m the poor guy who gets his dead head lopped off by The Dead Killer! It’s not just my likeness either - it’...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

Our Bones Dust by Ben Stenbeck, published by Image. This is the kind of modern comic that gets me super excited and passionate about comics and their full potential again. I’m already a huge fan of Ben’s work in the Mignola-verse corner of comics, so I was really anticipating this new title of his o...
