Re: Ninjak Superkillers #1

When did Parker and Norton work together on Ninjak prior to Superkillers? I did not enjoy the Parker/Pullido mini-series and was initially disappointed that Superkillers was a direct continuation. The spy genre is not my thing anyway. But I appreciate Mike Norton's art and liked the buddy dynamic b...

Re: Valiant/Alien Books - what’s the best that can happen?

Day 1 they had Dinesh (who did deliver a decent film in Bloodshot), since he was ousted it’s been a downward spiral. But all that is old news. What’s the publishing strategy here and now? I'm not saying movies are bad. You just have to put all the publishing decisions in the context that just publi...

Valiant/Alien Books - what’s the best that can happen?

Am wondering what the strategy is for Valiant/Alien books is? What’s the business model? Whose job is it to get the existing fans excited and to bring in new fans? There’s no Dinesh type person to tell us why we should care about the books or whet our appetites about what the future might hold. Ther...

Ninjak Superkillers #1

Boring! Uninteresting characters, lame dialogue, cartoony art and basically just 40 odd pages of Ninjak killing Z list characters. Jeff Parker/Mike Norton have already had a crack at doing Ninjak and it was very average, why Valiant editor Lisa Hawkins saw to make her re-hire this team is perplexing...

Re: New Valiant/Alien Releases: X-O Book One&#4 & Ninjak Superkillers Book One

I've not read any X-O series before Unconquered, so can't compare to other volumes - but i've been really enjoying this series and #4 continues to deliver. Is one of my favourite superhero comics, that i'm currently reading. It's a shame they changed this from an ongoing to a miniseries. Definitely...

Re: XO Manowar Unconquered #4

Been ages since I read #3 so I was a bit sketchy on the plot. The concept of linking with the Romans is a good one, but the murky art and the dialogue make for a bit of a slog to read. You certainly can’t accuse Liam Sharp of phoning his art in, but the dark panels and new armour design don’t help w...

XO Manowar Unconquered #3

There’s a decent story trying to get out her but the writing and art doesn’t make it easy to follow. Aric battles with Thyra, the warrior of the New Romans. Aric finds out what they’re up to when Soothsayer leads him to a part of the ship where the New Romans are trying to grow new Manowar armour. A...

Yeah that was weird, but I assume she put his finger in her mouth…although I’m not sure why? Was she trying to seduce him for some reason?

X-O Manowar Unconquered #2

At the risk of sounding controversial…..this issue was sorta interesting :o Turns out the people trying to capture Aric and the XO armour are the Romans captured by the Vine way back when Aric was also captured. Somehow they battled and won against the Vine, capturing ships and new technology along ...

Re: X-O Manowar Unconquered #1

Art was good although I don’t like the armour re-design, didn’t they just re-design during the disastrous Hallum run? Visually the witch character looked good. Story wise, my fears of CloonRad seem to be coming true. Clunky dialogue, lack of understanding of Aric as a character and continuing this t...

Spent $20 on the ComicsPro Edition, I was unimpressed ! :| Is it out yet? You must be impressed with the art? Seriously, tell us more - spoilers be damned!! Let’s hope with all our might that the ‘Booster Gold’ rip off version of XO hoisted on us by Dennis Hallum is written out and it’s closer to the VDitti run. :hope:

Bloodshot Unleashed #4

I assume this to be the final issue. Dennis Camp for some reason chose to write 4 basically stand alone issues in this mini series, seemingly only connected by having a different throwaway ‘baddie of the month’. In all 4 books the fighting scenes were the least interesting. In this issue there’s a n...

Re: COMIC BOOK PUBLISHERS, NOT PAYING CREATORS

Everyone relax, the new readership will be here in their droves soon enough putting their money down and supporting the company. The same audience Valiant under DMG have been pandering to the last few years. The ‘killers row’ of editing talent brought in by Fred Pierce couldn’t have been a monstero...

Re: Cloonan & Sharp on XO!!

The more I see teasers of Liam Sharp’s art then the more I definitely want this book to come out. This could be the best art ever on an XO book..,is that a bold statement?

Not hearing great things about the writers ‘Cloonrad’ but they can’t be any worse than Dennis Hallum.

Re: Cloonan & Sharp on XO!!

Here’s the blurb from Twitter

Seems there’s been some confusion. X-O MANOWAR UNCONQUERED is NOT canceled! It’s merely been resolicited because it was moved to a March release. Make sure your store puts the preorder in again because trust me, you won’t want to miss this book!

Re: ETERNAL WARRIOR: SCORCHED EARTH

The fact that X-O was just cancelled does not look good. A&A was cancelled. I know they stated the book is essentially done. I wonder if this might be the last book they put out as Valiant as we know it. Apparently Valiant have said XO isn’t cancelled and is still coming out in March :? Here’s ...
