Re: Graphic Novels vs Monthlies.
It may be worth noting that nothing on the Alien Books website is less than $9.99. They either have to introduce cheaper pricing for monthly comics, or they'll be doing something in the $9.99 or higher category. $9.99 was the cost of a VALIANT trade that collected four issues worth. How many pages ...

Social media is like fad haircuts... everyone does the same thing for a while, then stops completely... with regret when they look back later. hairfads.jpg We're more like the "never goes out of style" basic cut around here. normalhair.jpg It's not going to win any popularity contests, but...

Re: Board Activity
I posted this on another topic, but it belongs here, too. Where did everyone go? Well... A collector of pre-Unity Valiant anytime between 1992 and 2011 would have meant building a collection of 60 books over 20 years. Throw in the Valiant variants, gold issues, and key first appearances and you'd st...

... Also speculating here, but they were so good at marketing that I think at times that can come off as over-marketing and that can burn people out. As well as the 'whales' who have to collect everything can get burned out by the volume of variants and whatnot, and they just end up quitting altoge...

Re: Board Activity
Like I just said in another thread, it boggles the mind that the board's community would have survived over a decade without any new VALIANT comics only to die out after a few years of bad decisions from the current owners. How big and active was the fan buildup to The Phantom Menace, and how big a...

Re: Valiant Entertainment teams with Alien Books to expand publishing plans
This looks like it's a 100% "business timeline decision" to me based on DMG taking over in early 2018. We've just passed the 5 year mark.
Are things going how they want at the 5 year point? No? Then do something else.

Update: my mom passed away in December, 2022 😞 Sorry to hear this, Jeff! :| I don’t post here much, but i’ve visited since 2006 and before. I’ll always love this place. I’ve dubbed myself “The Watcher” amongst this great place Gregg created. For a tiny bit of amusement, the name "Greg" ac...

Re: X-O Unconquered is an Ongoing
I've seen it. Without the "inside front cover" summary (which is common in other titles), I'm not sure who I am supposed to recognize from this issue (or who I should remember their backstory). Aric and Shanhara are easy to recognize, but I don't immediately know (or remember) what they we...

Re: Media Kit - Custom Comics
Does there happen to be a date on that custom comics pamphlet? It seems to me to be from a much earlier era than the other items. Although I guess it's possible Voyager was still able to take on custom comics work as late as Unity, but I seriously doubt it. I had the same thought. Thinking this mig...

Speculation is that he could play Woody in a live action Quantum & Woody. Not sure how far along that project is, since it has been discussed (or "in development") for at least five years.

BWS had it for $750 on his website about 20 years ago. I can't remember if he kept it listed even after it sold.

I hope you're using my website at CGCdata.com to do these calculations, since it does most of the work for you. :thumb: Here are the most submitted Valiant books dated 1990 to 1992 from the end of 2021 to the end of 2022: http://cgcdata.com/cgc/search/publisher/:Valiant:/desc/no/comicyearstart/1989/...
