Re: What do you consider a good reader copy?

I chose good range and ice cream. Lol good call op for allowing two choices. Basically, if the story is intact, that is a good reading copy for me. My first reading copy of the original Green Goblin's death was a coverless marvel tales reprint and I still have it. :thumb:

Re: "The Jim Shooter Project" Results

I received my set and the bookmarks are awesome! Thank you to all involved for making this happen! I split up my set to give a couple to my cousin and he was thrilled. He's been going through some hard times recently so it was great to see the pleasure on his face when I was able to hand him a coupl...

Re: HASTINGS BANKRUPTCY: HOW WILL IT AFFECT VALIANT?

I've never seen a Hastings nor do I know anything about it other than this topic. Southern, Central, or West Coast US store chain I assume. However, I'm sorry to hear that Hastings is closing as some posts have stated it was their only local source for VEI comics/trades. I suggest dcbs.com. I'...

Re: Wrestler John Morrison posts the VEI symbol

I won't tell you that I did not see something yesterday that will blow everyone away soon. People will cry from happiness and won't believe their eyes. Ivar went back in time and made sure Shooter didn't get pushed out of Valiant? Hmmm. Yeah, that would make me cry from happiness. But I'd be crying...

Was it a smooth transition at VALIANT when Jim Shooter was no longer with the company and Bob Layton took his place?

Is there any particular issue of Shadowman you are most proud of where you felt, "I really nailed it there!"?

Holy cow! I didn't realize until now that this chat was rescheduled for tonight. Doh! Shadowman 8-13 is one of my favorite story arcs of all-time! Thank you Bob Hall for making it happen! Seriously, the bloodrunner arc is a great read and is timeless IMO. Definately one of my "stranded on an is...

Congrats to OhioValiantNut and Cyberstrike on owning a copy of "The Birth of the Defiant Universe". :thumb: That is a very tough book to get these days unless one is willing to spend alot of cash or just get super lucky. That is the only Defiant comic I am missing. One of these days, I hop...

Re: I've started re-reading the Defiant Universe

One thing that has really struck a chord with me about the early issues of Warriors of Plasm is how much you get from each issue when you take more time than usual to absorb all that is going on in each panel (particularly during the battle scenes). For instance, if you look closely at Warriors of P...

I've started re-reading the Defiant Universe

Well, I'm finally working on crossing off a complete read of the Defiant Universe from my bucket list! Lol. I read about a 1/3 of them upon their initial release and enjoyed them immensely. Over the years, I completed my collection but just hadn't gotten around to going back and doing a complete rea...

$8.35! Now I understand why I've seen so many posts about ditching the VEI floppies for the trades. $16 vs $8. facepalm
