Re: What comics are you reading now?
I just re-read Star Wars Dark Empire.
I didn't like it as much as I had the last time. I felt like Luke's reasoning for searching out the dark mind that was 'out there' somewhere was a bit convoluted and out of character.

Re: Which Superhero has the best rogues gallery?
I totally agree that Batman wins this by a large margin-unless you consider the nameless foe that Harry Osborne became in Spider-man 3. Then Spider-man wins by a landslide.

Re: Essential Hard Covers, Graphic Novels, TPBs
There are 3 tpbs that collect Miller and Janson's work on Daredevil which are fabulous. The first two especially. And then Born Again also. Miller's work on Daredevil is even better than his Batman stuff (which I love).
Identity Crisis is essential as well.

Re: Rob Liefeld. Love him, or hate him? Please explain
I have to confess that I'm not that appalled by what those guys did. Or was it pretty much just one guy? It was funny, in its way. And he did 'own' it. He stood right in front of him, spoke to him, bought the book and then inscribed it with all of his contact info. It was fairly direct. It would hav...

I'm not sure that I would say 'terrible' artist, though certain drawings have been exactly that. I think he just rushes things, maybe phones them in a little. He's notoriously late, so maybe, he's just trying to finish. His dynamic line work can really draw you in at times, to the extent that you fo...

It's good to see people checking out the original 'verse after reading the new stuff. So many good stories await you!

Re: Create your own comic universe
It would be fun to take some of the CrossGen characters and reboot it. I would make it all one world though, and let all of the powered people interact.
It could have a nice LOTR feel to it if you only had Brath, Sojourn and the Path Along with Way of the Rat and Ruse (revamped to be a bit older).

Re: Batman: Year One
When all of this stuff was coming out I was a fan of comics, but didn't really own any. A few of my army buddies were getting into them and they would go to a shop down on the wharf in Monterrey. My friend Jake asked the guy at the shop what he should read and the guy recommended the Dark Knight. It...

Re: Kindle Worlds - The Valiant Short Stories
Has anyone read any of these?
I'd still like to know how long they are.
I have written a 1500 word story, but not sure if I should wrap it up or develop some more.
Kinsey Mahone should make an appearance, right?
And Dr. Akins or Volsognosz?

Re: "Why can't Superman be black?"
So which one of you is going to tell Cee Lo that he can't have those heroes and he needs to find some heroes his own color? Who's going to tell President Obama that he can't be such a big Spider-Man fan and collect Spider-Man comics because Spider-Man is not black (not even half black)? I'll do it....
