Re: "The Valiant" TPB ships from Amazon 5/26 at $9.18!
I just placed my pre-order with Amazon. Guess I have a good warehouse because every order I've ever gotten from Amazon has been perfect. Feel bad for others who had bad experience with Amazon. Even if I had great experiences with Amazon's shipping (for the most part, it's been alright), I don't buy...

99% of the time, I am with you. A lot of artists have opinions, and I will always try to let their work stand on their own. Miller, Moore, Card, etc.... But we have a confluence of things with Kot that puts him in the 1% for me: - Clearly thinks the American military is a evil terrorist force. No m...

Re: Divinity: Abram Gannibal
Knowing the history of the African races in "civilized" countries of the 20th century, it does not surprise me at all that Russia would be worried about losing their "best and brightest" to a space program that might fail, unless he was an "outsider" that didn't belong...

Re: Divinity: Abram Gannibal
Interesting find, cannot imagine it is a coincidence. As posted in the other thread, tge USSR actively recruited talented black americans (due to the oppression they faced at home). Not sure why some would thinknits impossible that one of those talented black folks would be one of their cosmonauts....

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
I sometimes look at mycomicshop.com for somewhat of a gauge on comic values....Hype on old Valiant is definitely there. Eternal Warrior #4, Rai #0, and Solar #3 are fairly high-priced. Those 3 issues weren't that high until the recent movie hype. I bought Rai #0 close to cover price 2-3 years ago, a...

Re: Ivar Comma Timewalker #4
Great issue, so much fun, yadda yadda yadda. Am I the only one that reads this and infers that Neela, in her attempts to save her father, actually caused the four-car pile up that put him in the hospital? If they are still following Stephen Hawking's theory of time travel, then the only thing you c...

They'd probably do a hardcover after a second Dr Mirage mini-series eventually comes out.Phoenix8008 wrote:VEI hasn't done a hardcover for anything less than 15 or so issues, right? Only ongoings* so far, I believe.ilzuccone wrote:would love to get this in hardcover.

Re: Rai reread
A noble venture, jmatt. I plan to do the same with Rai, as well as Imperium & Ivar, as I haven't enjoyed Valiant this much since the line first came back with the early arcs of X-O, Archer & Armstrong, Bloodshot, and Harbinger (also Harbinger Wars and a select few issues of Shadowman). I'm d...

Re: VEI sales due to the movie news
My LCS crew said "so they sold? Didn't they learn from the last time with Acclaim?" To which I said "new group of people. Different circumstances. Not a full on sale of IP" That's the equivalent to saying Marvel "sold" when they did the movie deals for X-Men & Spid...

Any Grant Morrison fans in da haus? Anyone reading his new series, Nameless? I'm really liking it so far, two issues in. Good to hear on Nameless. I'm trade-waiting that one, as well as Annihilator. I have been reading Multiversity which has been pretty good, overall. No spoilers, but Nameless is k...

Re: after they get the rights to the GK3, they should relaun
I think it would be great if the GK3 appear. Magnus & Turok could easily fit in the Rai storyline As for Solar, Divinity being around could make Solar repetitive, but similar power-sets aren't a true indicator of what quality writers could accomplish. There are so many variables to consider with...

Re: Unity #15 Discussion
Enjoyable one shot issue, which kept me interested throughout. I took Ninjak's mood to be one of missing the adrenaline rush that comes with Unity missions rather missing the other members per se? Slight gripe about Ninjak being a rich fella surrounded by business advisors, seemed a bit cliche. I t...

Re: X-O Manowar Omnibus
Nobody prefers a big-ass thick, heavy, unwieldy book just for the extra page-count. It's the oversized art that makes it preferable to a smaller collection. The page-count is why I'll be buying this book. So you'd rather hold up one huge omnibus than have 3 manageable Valiant Masters? That makes no...

LoEG -- Moore I really liked the first story arc. It is that second one with Mr. Hyde raping the Invisible Man that really turned me off to this material. In my opinion, the best of cosmic Marvel, especially in recent years, are these: Annihilation Book 3 Annihilation Conquest Nova vol. 4 When it comes to Annihilation Conquest, I actually preferred reading the prologue one-shot, skip issues 1-5 and read the Nova tie-ins, then Annihilation Conquest #6....

I gave Pak's run on Eternal Warrior a 5-6 issue chance. I found it to be average, at best.
Although I have trepidations with this upcoming mini, I'll give it a shot, especially with Nord's artwork. Here's to hoping it's one of Milligan's better works!
