To pick one that hasn't been mentioned, I'll go with the Second Life of Dr. Mirage, at least the issues that Bernard Chang did. I really thought the art in that book was fantastic, and the writing was generally pretty good. It's more of a soap opera feel, but it was also a lot of fun. Of course, mos...

I think a lot of it also has to do with who comes along first with a service. I know CGC also grades sports cards as SCG, but for a long time they were second fiddle to PSA, who were I believe the first card graders out there. I wonder if CGG had come along first, if they would be considered the top...

First of all, could you please lower the caps when you type? It's considered SHOUTING and is poor netiquette. Second, I think you'll find that 9.9 and 10.0 are rare for any comic from CGC, even fresh off the shelf. Valiants have been around for over 10 years and many have not been taken care of sinc...

Good question, in my case, it all depends. First of all, if the Valiant mylar is still in good shape, I generally will leave the book in there. I may have wider long boxes than you, but I haven't had problems fitting them into my boxes. If they aren't in such good shape but not totally shot, I will ...

Rhino, Did you forget that you won those Bloodshot books from me? You listed that you need them, but you did win copies of Bloodshot #39, 41-43, 45-51 and Last Stand from me last Friday on eBay. I'm still waiting on your payment so I can get them out to you. Here's the link in case you forgot about ...

I have to agree that the Immortal Enemy is a key Valiant villian. Doing my re-reading project (actually my first reading with most of these books), he's certainly been used a lot. Since I'm in that much maligned part of Valiant history (post Chaos Effect/pre-Birthquake), he's actually currently more...

The X-O Database is the most difficult one to nail down. Some of them came with a COA, but a lot of them didn't. There were also different COA's from Diamond and a lot of the books came with obviously photocopied COA's. As for sleeves, one of mine came in a Valiant sleeve while another didn't. I've ...

I was at a local shop recently purchasing some fill-ins for my Valiant run and had asked if they had any signed comics. The owner was nice enough to give me a copy of Bloodshot 6 signed by Perlin and VanHook for FREE! By the by, it was also signed in red ink and placed in a Valiant mylar sleeve; on...

I've been working on reading all the Valiant titles in release order for quite a while now. I'm now a couple months past the Chaos Effect. Sometimes I wonder if reading these later books in release order is the best idea or if I should just finish off the runs of the books one at a time. There are s...

Valiant eBay auctions, lots of good stuff!
I listed a bunch of Valiants today, some of the harder to find books. VVSS, Gold, Valiant Voices, check them out: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=brother*j*valiants&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50 Five day auctions so you won't have to wait as...

Which is surprising for me since I found the glow-in-the-dark covered issue in a dollar bin at the San Diego convention last year. And found that Retailer Review of #16 for $3 at a comic shop not too far from me just a few months ago. Those are some nice finds. The Glow has to be one of the toughes...

newsstand editions of Valiant comics
I finally took the time to do a little searching through my Valiants to see if I had any other newsstand editions. I did find a Solar #60 (last issue) that was a newsstand copy. With this book and the Bloodshot #35 I found before, I now have a whopping two newsstand books! It looks like these newsst...

You may have a good idea with flipping the Unity Red with the Geomancer VVSS. I would agree 100% that you see a Unity Red a lot more than the tough VVSS books, but for some reason the Geomancer VVSS seems to lag behind in price a little bit from the other tough ones. Unity Reds often close at $50 or...

the one game I'd like to have that I remember from years ago is Yie Ar Kung Fu. However, I don't think this ever came out as a game for the home system. As for getting an arcade version of the game, I don't know if I would have the room for something like that, plus I worry about what happens if the...

What about Bloodshot Platinum? If you're asking why no Bloodshot Platinum in my list, here's my thoughts on that from the original post: For the premium issues, first, I would not put the Bloodshot Platinum Error on that list at all. Unlike all the other premium books, that book was not meant to go...

For the premium issues, first, I would not put the Bloodshot Platinum Error on that list at all. Unlike all the other premium books, that book was not meant to go to anybody in the general public. I think you could incorporate the more expensive items in the most wanted premium books, because most o...
