Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
Whoa has anyone noticed Invincible comics lately? Raws of issue one going for $3-500 bucks, we talked about this one as a slow burner for a long time, finally it's taken off after selling around $100 raw for awhile. Re: Favorite free comic book day title?
I got: Valiant - only read x-o I hate fairyland - eh Kid savage - I love joe Kelly, but eh Bongo - always good Wonder woman - haven't read much Guardians - haven't read SpongeBob square pants - I've read only about 10 pages, but this is the winner by far. Great commentary on comic books as a hobby a...

Re: Ultimate Comics
The Ultimates were good. Ultimate x-men, particularly the Kirkman stuff was good. There was a galactus min that was really good too.

Reborn 1 - This was ok. Knowing it's a Millar title and therefore will probably be only 5 issues or so, I got this for the Capullo art. Won't be picking up the rest. Rose 1 - I like to flip most Image #1s to see if they might be something I'd like. The art caught my eye and the story looked interest...

Re: For all the "Invincible" Fans- Series Ending Announcemen
I guess it could be for people who like to argue that stuff. For me, one panel where he says one line is fine to call it a first appearance, but that doesn't make that issue more important than the first issue of the series.

Re: For all the "Invincible" Fans- Series Ending Announcemen
Noble Causes: Family Secrets #3 is definitely the first appearance, but it's a quick cameo. The B cover is the best because Invincible is in one of the boxes in the x-men cover homage. Since it's a quick cameo, #1 is still the best book to have, Imo. Of the issues with the preview, I like Tech Jacke...

I don't get how this is much different from volume 1. Well, aside from not being able to tell what was going on with the ring and something later in the book. I had problems with the art storytelling.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Not that they are new, but I 've been reading Jonah Hex related books, read the Palmotti/Gray run, Weird Western Tales new and old runs. I am now reading the Jonah Hex Volume 1 issues. I have to say these have held up very well and in some instances better than some silver age Marvel books. #50 is ...

I'll definitely look at the stuff they put out. This sounds more like an Image model when they say creator owned than vertigo.
I've read a decent amount of vertigo books and many are among my favorites. When creators are given free reign.... Those are usually the best stories.

Re: Rai 0 Platinum?!
This Rai #0 book has a white pricing box, with the price weakly visible, and the compass logo is "ugly" (publishers might play around with colors, but publishers don't mess with their logo). That's three strikes against "platinum" labeling. This book wasn't made on purpose, but ...

Vei books are tough in high grade for sure. I don't think I ever see 9.8s on the racks and I'm usually happy to get a 9.2 raw to read.

Simplified... A = Total supply B = Normal value C = Variant supply 75/25 rule D = estimate for the variant value D = A * B * 0.25 / C Archer & Armstrong #0 A = 105,000 B = $10 C = 5,000 D = 105,000 * $10 * 0.25 / 5,000 = $52.50 for Archer & Armstrong #0 Gold That right there is beautiful.

Re: For all the "Invincible" Fans- Series Ending Announcemen
Compendiums are the cheapest, but I like the hardcovers. Start with the first one. The art sucks in the first one, but you see Ottley grow throughout the series. He is one of the best out there now, In my opinion. Definitely my favorite super hero book ever. It's an homage to the genre and it combin...

It would have to be a fight from Invincible. Maybe vs Conquest. Or Angstrom Levy. Or Thrag vs Battle Beastt.

Indeed. I sold off my Twd 1 Cgc 9.8 black label around that time for $300 which was far more than any copy before. Now, that's an easy $3k book. :o I own a white label CGC 9.8 copy. I paid well less than 3k for it. There was a thread over on the CGC boards that extrapolates that there are roughly e...

Knowing that it was a series Kirkland said he wanted to go on forever, people put the high grade copies into their permanent collections. 9.8s aren't very easy to find anymore, but that will all likely change after the series ends, if not sooner.

Big time bummed by this. I'm certain there are other pencillers who'd love to work on the book, so it's pretty obvious this decision was made because it's not selling a crazy amount of books like TWD. This was what Spider-Man was, but better. I'm hoping one day he'll go back to these characters afte...
