Re: Alien's VALIANT
I would love to see a new take on the Generation Zero kids from the PRS storyline in Bloodshot… and at this point, something that ignores that Van Lente series that kind of ruined the potential of the group.

Re: Alien's VALIANT
I think Hickman or Ewing could definitely write up some awesome Harbinger story arcs that would build nicely off of Dysarts run on both Harbinger & Imperium and even Heisserer’s Secret Weapons. That would be really great to see. I would also love to see what Ewing might do with Shadowman - his I...

Re: What comics are you reading now?
I mostly have been reading Shadowman, Deadworld, Cerebus, and Batman One of my favourite claims to fame is my appearance as a zombie in issue #6 of the image-era Deadworld series (c2005?) - I’m the poor guy who gets his dead head lopped off by The Dead Killer! It’s not just my likeness either - it’...

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Our Bones Dust by Ben Stenbeck, published by Image. This is the kind of modern comic that gets me super excited and passionate about comics and their full potential again. I’m already a huge fan of Ben’s work in the Mignola-verse corner of comics, so I was really anticipating this new title of his o...

Re: VH 3 Artwork
I think that what you’re describing about the most recent DMG-era of Valiant books is not the victim of poor editorial vision or guidance, but rather part of an evolving marketing trend of doing “soft reboots” to create jumping-on points for new readers. They are meant to give people on ramps with ...

Re: My original art holy grail
The cover to Marvel US The Transformers #5, Dreadstar #1 and Infinity Gauntlet #1 are my holy grails I know I'll never get to own them but a guy always can dream. Oh man… that TF #5 Shockwave painting would indeed be a mighty grail piece to land! I have a single page of art from issue #30 & als...

Re: ETERNAL WARRIOR: SCORCHED EARTH
Mine showed up with dents on the cover. top corner was dented enough to dent some pages also. I'm pretty damn displeased. it was just tossed in a box with not enough paper to protect/immobilize it. FFS. Sorry that happened to you - hope this isn’t going to be a thing for everyone, but if it’s poorl...

Re: ETERNAL WARRIOR: SCORCHED EARTH
Wasn’t the augmented reality thing for the book scrapped after Travis (the designer) quit at Valiant? I remember reading about that somewhere - I thought he was the only guy they had who knew how to do that… unless they found someone else that figured it out after all?

Re: Magnus 8 Interior Page - $800
Valiant art is higher than it ever has been before. I'm selling a bunch of my pieces on another thread, at about the cost I paid for them. I've sold a lot. On general, the prices range from 1/3 to 1/2 of what they are going for now. It's kind of bananas. And at the other end of the scale, Dinesh ha...

Re: Magnus 8 Interior Page - $800
You know, I lost track of the Comiclink auctions ending recently and it is really too bad how poor their website is with no tracking. I would have paid more for these pieces. Seller would have been happy. I have written and even talked to them about it and they know they are doing a disservice to b...

Re: ICV2 INTERVIEW: MATIAS TIMARCHI AND DANIELLE WARD OF ALIEN BOOKS
I will also mention that HC trade books are not a thing I’m typically interested in personally - so I won’t be looking to get into those HC collected editions. But I’m not much of a trade edition collector anyways so I’m not in that target market of collectors. I strongly prefer picking up regular o...

Re: ICV2 INTERVIEW: MATIAS TIMARCHI AND DANIELLE WARD OF ALIEN BOOKS
Great interview, glad to hear more detail about what’s coming and about the new shift in formats. For me personally, I’m interested in seeing the prestige edition becoming the new standard for Valiant books via Alien. It may be a higher price point but that’s totally not a problem when the content i...

Re: Altercomics Studio
That’s good art - what is Altercomics Studio though, is it related to Alien books in some way? Is this image being used for a Bloodshot title? Altercomics Studios team ups with Alien Books to bring new Valiant Comic Books! They're the studio that's handling the art for Alien's VALIANT books. So, li...

Excellent pickups! I picked up one page (set of pencils & inks) from that series years ago as well - love Paulo & Joe Rivera’s work on it! There were more pages I wanted to get from the series but missed out on them. splashpageart.com still has a lot of great covers and pages from this seri...

Re: Licensed Comics
I was watching Orphan Black over the weekend, right at the end of the fourth season. This one guy looked familiar but I could not quite place him. I looked him up on IMDb, he was Hubbel Urich on EFC. Love that show, and super proud that it’s a Canadian made series. No joke, I went out for dinner wi...

Re: What comics are you reading now?
The once-again recently relaunched Incredible Hulk has actually hooked me in again - the return to a darker horror-tinged vibe is right up my alley and I was already a big fan of Nic Kleins art, which has been a treat on the title. It feels like a proper spiritual successor to the Immortal Hulk run...
